Default Can anyone with TRD bbk help me????

Hello - I live up in Seattle so it's harder for me to do it.

I'm looking at ordering the SL5 wheels from Klutch wheels and currently they are a special order item right now. I talked to Klutch on the phone and they are looking for information on the TRD bbk to ensure that the wheels will clear my brakes.

I have searched all over online, called TRD, called Scion corporate and called my dealer where I got the car looking for either the brake template or any info that would be helpful for the wheel manufacture.

Can anyone provide me with the information or point me into the direction where I can get this info or does anyone have the bbk that lives near the City of Industry that could possibly lend their car for a test fit?

Thank you

From what I understand, the stock 18" TRD wheels are needed to fit the TRD big brakes. So look up the specs for those and compare to the wheels you are looking at. Although I have heard that the stock 17" fit fine as well I can not confirm this. Hope this helps!

I was thinking the same, but when it comes to wheels I get so lost.

The stock rims are a 18x7.5 +39mm

The new ones I want are a 18x9.5 +35 is my goal

Send an e-mail to StopTech...they build that BBK. They provide wheel clearance templates for all their brakes. Erik Steinkamp is a sales rep there and has gotten me stuff I needed to build my BBK. His e-mail is erik@stoptech.com but this is almost 2-year old information.

2tCornot2tC - I have already gone down that route. They wrote back and said "While we are technical partners on the development and manufacturing of those kits, we do not sell or support them and would not have that info available"

KidJustin - let me get back to you. If I cannot find any info that will help the wheel manufacture, then maybe I can give you an incentive for your time.

i was thinking more if they would offer something. they don't seem to have any photos on a 2nd gen (or any tC for that matter) so in addition to testing the bbk for u (and their own info), i could also test/photograph wheels for their own needs, like their gallery or whatever they want. just not sure what they would be able to offer me...

That's an interesting idea - I can talk to them about that if this is the route I go.

This template should be close...
http://www.stoptech.com/docs/wheel-f...518-2450-01_FP
What I would do is cut this template out but use the big sheet (not the template for the wheel) and pass it over your caliper. If the paper touches the caliper, cut more out. If there is a gap, tape over it with masking tape. Measure the differences and you've got your own template...
See if this one is any closer...
