Just because he has coilovers doesn't mean he has to dump it. You could set the height = to the current setup but you can adjust the shocks. Adjustability is always better. And to Chicop, I can't wait to see how it looks. I think the car is well done.
u can get coils for ~$850
The main function of coils is handling....not the drop
also dropping an inch with coils still ensures that you have full shock travel and you wont rub if you're flush since the springs are stiffer and keep the car flat
with our suspension geometry, the best handling is achieved somewhere between 1" and 1.5" drop

In this particular thread, the suggestion of him getting coils is for him to further decrease the wheel gap that is visible.
I've yet to see anyone suggest to him to get coilovers by visually looking at his car to tell him that it will "handle better"

^^"in this particular thread" ? it was only one comment by TeeCizzle, and he didnt says HOW to reduce wheel gap..its more of a suggestion that he should...in which case TeeCizzle is making a suggestion of having Mike go the "aggressive fitment/stance" look
Mike said that he has coilovers...which clearly will drop the car more, thus reduce wheel gap...because thats what coilovers can do. Did he say he was going to? NO. Did anyone tell him to? NO. he just said that he has them and that "aggressive fitment/stance" look that TeeCizzle was suggestion is a possibilty. Shannon just said "get those coilovers on!" mainly because most people that mod cars have that itch to install things ASAP, rather than letting them sit there
then YOU make a comment about coilovers and 19 as no good...which has no really backing or meaning. why would they be no good? because of handling? because of looks? you don't say and its not brought up...the assumed point of ur comment is looks...so we will go with that. if u were talking about coilovers and 19s as far as looks and thus saying that there is no point to spend the $ to drop the car as much as cheaper springs...so ipso facto....you started this thing on coilovers for looks. handling was not brought up until Alex mentioned it in response to your comment
...
anyways back on topic. Five:AD R5:F are really nice wheels...i almost jumped to get them after seeing them on the Matte white Longo tC2, with a BBk and dropped on prototype GReddy coilovers. really fits the look of the tC2 well if ur going for either the subtle look or the stance look. oh and FWIW, Five:AD does not make wheels with lips because when u add a lip the face of the wheel gets sunk in and sometimes looks smaller than it really is. they wanted to make sure if u got 19s then it really looks like 19s, hence the face all the way out and no lip

First reply based on 'Looks'
TeeCizzle
"Need to go slightly Lower to get rid of the Wheel Gap & Maybe add Spacers to Fender Flush the wheels also!!"
Second reply based on 'Looks'
speterson82
"install the coilovers asap and then put up pictures....I must see"
Third reply based on 'Looks'
Scion202
"as for coils with 18s or 19s.......bigger wheels always attract more attention some 18s may just end up looking better than 19s because of the design"
Now for my replies that are in response to 'Looks'.....
Oblivionlord
"Kind of pointless to invest over $1k in coilovers just for a half inch or about 1" total drop from the TRD springs he's already using."
OblivionLord
"19" wheels with coilovers is way too much. What he has is good enough. Coilovers is far better with 18"
Hopefully now you'll have a better understanding of how the conversation went. Perhaps next time you'll put more effort into rereading all the posts before you spurt out your nonsense.
u seem to have forgotten about your

which came just before Scion202, and thus really started the whole issue. like i said...u never mentioned if urs was about looks or handling...but by the way the conversation continued between u and others...it was about looks
and FYI..i did note TeeCizzle and Shannon's comments. while TeeCizzle was "looks" he is going for one way and has been commenting like that for a while in other places. and Shannon's comment was a simple "install now" not necessary looks...
all noted in my comment. thanks for reading...

Also speterson82's comment does pertain to looks or else the following wouldn't have been said which you somehow left out of your assumption... "then put up pictures....I must see".
haha jesus, bottom line: i will never understand how this is true...
with 19s it will look better and handle better.....
solution to reduce wheel gap: lower drop and/or 19s with bigger diameter tires than stocks
done!

Didn't think my post would spark so much controversy, if you want to call it that.
Anyway, thanks for the input, suggestions, compliments, etc. I will be putting coils on tomorrow morning and plan to just get it flush. I'd like form and function, if possible. We'll see if I can get both.
OblivionLord, i paid way less then a 1000 which is another reason I jumped on the purchase of coils. Had the deal not come up, I'd stay with the TRD's.

What certain other people assume I meant: I want pictures of how your car looks slammed on coilovers.
What I actually meant: I just want to see pictures of the coilovers installed on the car regardless of the height. Like install them, and then post installation photos....like KJ tried to point out

My statement was a followup based on 18s looking better than 19s on coils from the prior responses from Teecizzle's slammed statement and speterson82 extra drop statement on coils.

I don't think anyone here was assuming that at all. Not even me. I suppose in a more detailed explaination, I assumed you weren't asking him to slam his car, but to use the coils to go lower than where he is already at with springs just to cover the gap.
I used you as reference for Kidjustin since he was saying that you didn't base your request off looks even though you included the words "I must see".
Whatever these dudes are jawing about I don't care. Your ride looks great and I love your wheels since I have same style in stealth chrome on my BSP XB.
