Looking for opinions on wheel locks
I have the standard 18 inch alloy wheels that come with a 2012 tC. I am thinking someone might want to poach them at some point, so wheel locks make good sense. I have identified Gorilla Locks and McGard as possible options. Does anyone have any experience or opinions? Thanks.
Those wheel locks in the second link are conical with a washer. I think they are for the TRD 19" wheels. I am pretty sure they will not work on the stock 18"s. I looked the Sparks website, I can't find the proper flat seat locks at all.
Thanks for the heads up - I ordered the flat ones, not the conical ones.
It states on the website for Toyota that the part number you ordered does fit the Scion alloy wheels. That is the only wheel lock set available from Toyota as of this time. Please let us know if you need anything else.

As soon as they arrive, I'll find out for certain.
I bought the wheel locks from TRD Sparks. These are apparently size and weight balanced to meet Scion OEM specs. The flat washer is the same configuration as the OEM lugs. They went on perfectly and fit great. As it turns out, they are manufactured by McGard. I put them on as recommended with a torque wrench at 75 ft lb. and will do my best to keep idiots with air wrenches away from them when I take the car in for service. I recommend these to anyone looking to put locks on their factory wheels.
The techs should be using torque sticks with the impacts to tighten the wheel lugs down. I don't take my car in for service at the dealership unless it's warranty work or something I wouldn't be able to fix. Even then I handle any issue myself that comes up, no one will respect or care for your car as much as yourself. DIY when possible, if not get a friend that wrenches for help.
