Default For those who know stretched tires

I was contemplating 245/40/18's on a 9.5 wide wheel for the rear and 225/45/18 over an 8.5 inch on the front.

Thoughts/opinions/suggestions?

yea, just google stretched tires. theres ton of site just like the one i posted with pics.
also tons of threads from various forums all over the internet of people with the same or similar questions.

245 is still pretty big for a 9.5 if want stretch. Really depends how much you want. Ive seen people go as low as 215's on a 9.5. And 225 seems like a pretty common choice.

if you stretch, you can go lower than if you had a bigger tire

i think id rather do it in what i would call the proper way, tubbing, instead of screwing around with something as important as tires.

Both myself and 1stone are going to be running a 255/40R18 on a 9.5 wide wheel. It sits pretty flush yet is completely functional. Buut to each his own. Good luck either way

255 on a 9.5 is a perfect setup, nothing wrong with that whatsoever

It can still be low with this set up. I noticed under your name it says you have an 06. The tc2 is wider for one and can fit this while still running low with out any issues and secondly if your going to come in to this thread to bash on people then you can just leave. We don't need another arrogant know it all ruining every single posted thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if its not your forte then dont say anything or just mention what you like while still being courteous. If you cant do that then gtfo. Kthxbye

umm.... this is a thread about streched tires.... if you dont like it you can leave, im very familiar with the tC2 im around them every day, i know what they have to offer vs the tC1, so before you call me an arrogant know it all, know that i am not arrogant but i do know it all.....

and sure you can run big tires on wide wheels and lower the car, just enjoy rubbing.

now back to stretched tires....... cus that IS what this thread is about.

If you don't like something, don't post in the thread. It really is that simple. The OP asked a question on what to do, not whether anyone agrees or likes the idea.

Thanks Jon.

On topic, it looks like I will be running the stock tires on a 9" wide rim. 225 over a 9" should be good
