While I have yet to do it, I do know that it works.
However, you'll have to fiddle with the wires to get it to work.
There are a couple of people who have done it, I heard it's not hard at all.

Hopefully someone else can chime in, because I want to do this once I get my hands on some 06 taillights.

its relatively easy, there are two wires that you have to cut and splice back. basically just switch them around. i'll be able to check later and let ya'll know which ones they are

Ok I was able to do this at work, I had an epiphany about it around 2 am last night. This is what I did to get this to work with my car:

1. Take your old taillights off (2 nuts on back of lights)

2. Look at the wiring on the taillight and copy it with new wiring

3. None of the bulb holders fit in the 06 taillights
A. The turn signal holder, I cut off the 2 smallest detents
B. The brake and rear light holder, I cut off 1 detent right next to were it says P2
C. The reverse holder, I cut off the 2 detents closest to each other

4. I ran all new wiring copying the 04 taillight and soldered the wires to were they
were supposed to go.

5. Plugged everything in.

6. Put new taillights back on!

Sorry this is a little vague, but once you get your lights off you will see how easy it is. Hope this helps anyone that is doing this.
