Fer cryin' out loud, it's February already! What are the bodykit options for us 06 xA types? Searching the forum, I know someone has ordered the jpusa kit, but haven't seen any feedback or pics. I can only assume it's not installed yet or there's a prob. KS has one up on the website, but haven't seen any retailer offering it yet. I've personally contacted some buds at aitracing and buddyclub2 to press for an 06 kit. my hook up at ait sez if they can have a car for 8-12 weeks, they'd do it.... any west coast takers??? lol.

Good luck. I've been looking since I bought my new xa last year. I just want a front lip that fits an 06.

Hopefully someday we'll have one or more on the market.

 

yeah, not much love for the xA crowd out there. Hopefully, a company that manufactures bodykits recognizes that there's a gap in this market - and a tremendous opportunity to cash in on it.

 

The companies that I found that make some sort of kit for the xA are:

Kenstyle (1st and 2nd gen) [lip kit]
Fabulous (1st for sure, prolly will fit 2nd) [full bodykit]
TRD (1st 2 versions | 2nd 1 version) [lip kit]
Noblesse (1st, prolly 2nd) [full kit]
JP USA (1st and 2nd?) [lip kit]
Darkeyes (1st, prolly 2nd) [full kit]

I put probably, because I've seen an '06 with a 1st front bumper, so they should fit. Hope I helped a little

 

I have been told the front bumper fits either way, so if you didnt mind buying a new bumper you could go with an older style.

 

Well, I really don't want to replace the whole bumper. I'd prefer a lip kit. I've dabbled in fiberglass before and I'm seriously thinking about trying my hand at making my own.

 

I don't mind changing out the bumpers (front and rear), as long as the new components fit properly.

 

Will the FAB kit fit the 06 model since its a full bumper replacement? I am in the market for the xA and the reason i want that car is for this kit.

 

As far as I know, it will fit. Since I've seen an '06 with the first gen bumper fit with no problem. I was considering the FAB kit as well, but after talking to a friend of mine, he said some bumper supports will have to be cut in order for it to fit since the original FAB bumpers were made for the JDM Ist. It may have changed since then, so I am not sure. There are a couple people here as well as xatuner.com that have the kit so they may be more help than me

 

MotegixA did an '06 to '05 bumper conversion so that they could put a JPUSA kit on. Apparently, it worked. But that'll cost most than necessary.

The guy with the JPUSA kit that you were talking about (probably) was me! I ordered a kit... and probably the second guy in the States to have it on an xA. No, I haven't posted pictures yet. But I know that there are tons of pictures of it from shows and things.

I'm getting some other mods settled first, and have to get a part of my kit fixed. Then I'll post some pictures!

Most lip kits will NOT fit an 06 xA due to the way the bumper curves at the end and the modified foglight holes.

Your best bet is to go for a full bumper replacement kit like the FAB and Noblesse.

p.s. lol~ I guess I'm the third xA with the JP kit =p We should do a photoshoot sometime XD
