Default Changing XA front signal bulbs

Been looking around for how-to's for changing the front turn signal bulbs on an XA.

Way too tight to reach as is. Do you have to take the bumper cover off and unbolt the headlight assembly to change the bulb?

I think you're going to have to loosen the entire headlamp unit....

It's a Pain but you can do it without taking the bumper off.

Just did it. Ended up having to loosen the bumper and pull it forward enough to get at that lower bolt that holds the headlight assembly in place.

The funniest part is the Scion manuals discription of the process..."just twist the bulb out". (pictures only of course)

Those guys must have tinyest freakin' hands!

Don't think anyone will ever come through with em...I've got some silverstars laying under my seat waiting for me.

Headlights aren't too bad. Did those awhile back with no trouble. The other real headache to change are the factory fogs. You have to peel back the fender liner to get at those.

Yup, I've got silverstars under my seat for those as well. It's been nearly a year since I put the fogs on, but I was thinking that I could get a hand in there enough to do it without loosening the fender liner...maybe not.

I have to do the fogs real soon, I just noticed that I blew one of my lights the other night.....Silverstars, here I come!

And while I'm under there, it's time to clean the K&N....

I did the foglights. Those were fun -_- The whole front bumper basically has to come off.. at least that was teh easiest thing to do.

the bumper is held on by like four clips and two screws or something like that. Remember on a scion everything is bolt on. lol. I think the hardest thing was figuring out how to put them in (before we took off the bumper) and then rewiring the switch that I am using.

naw, don't worry about it. Harrison and I actually got risky and figured out how to rewire the other switch I had. so now everything works. Thanks though.

I'll deffinitely not pull the bumper to stick the bulbs in. I'm still pretty certain that you can get to em by just pulling the lower engine covers off. At worst, one or two clips on the fender liner.

it really wasn't that hard to take the bumper off. I think it was more of, I wasn't expecting it. Other than that, its seriously held on by like 4 clips.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it being hard. I've seen the bumpers come off an xA, xB, and tC. I just prefer not to pull it off where I will not have to worry about scratching it while it's being moved around or reinstalled. Since I installed the foglights without taking it off, then hopefully I'm not too absent minded to just swap out the bulbs without pulling it off.

no need to worry about the fogs people. just 2 clips of the wheelwell, a flathead screwdriver to push down on the switch, and you're set. i put some yellow fog light bulbs over the weekend. i took off the cover underneath the bumper and realized i could have done the mod without goin down on my car. about ten minutes and you're set. and for some reason, it was easier to unplug the light before removing the bulb rather than just taking the bulb out while connected. same strategy if you're interested in replacing your front bumper corner lights with clear ones, though i should warn you that on the passenger side the washer fluid tank gets in the way, but with a little patience it can be done. again - just remove the 2 clips, and with a 10mm ratchet and 10 minutes you're set.

I did the fogs last weekend as well.....I had the tire off and thought about cleaning my K&N and when it was off I thought I'd go get the Silverstars and swap them out as well....I found it easier to twist the light out then removing the bulb...so to each his own....

I just thought of something that's going to suck. I'll end up forgetting about my silverstars then all the sudden have a revelation and decide I want to put them in, but when I finally get around to it they will already be burnt out since I waited so long and let them slide around under my seat forever.

I believe that would qualify as a run-on sentence.
