Default Fitting a lip kit... What step and tools?

Hopefully I can get a good response here~ !

In short, what are the proper steps in fitting a lip kit on a vehicle? What parts do I need? (type of sandpaper, etc) Any do's or dont's? What is the run down on sanding and body tape?

Basically, I'm trying to save money on installation by fitting the kit on the bumpers before getting them painted. The lip kit is made of polyurathane and is genuine so fitment won't be a major issue. I just want it to fit like factory pieces and save a bit of money on the process. A body shop around here quoted me only 200 for prime and paint if I just bring in the parts to paint.

Default lip

It all depends on the lip. Every lip is different and is installed differently, plus to make it tougher ther are many ways to attach each. Personally. I would line it up on the bumper, make some witness marks, take it off, apply 3m outdoor double sided tape, attach it back to the bumper and add some screws or stainless or aluminum pop-rivets and you are done. Thats how the lip I'm developing will attach. No need to remove the bumper at all.
