there was preemptive gratitude in the opener.
have you learned nothing from the war on terror?

thanks. you have been helpful.

i have not seen that grille sold separately yet.
i am working on my own, but it is my first time working with fiber glass. it should be interesting if it stays together.

i am still not sure how to enclose the EL emblem i have in mind yet. acrylic is good for covering it, but i need a clean trim.

I would stay clear of Kenstyle Not cause it's not a quality piece but cause there is better JDM stuff I think. I ordered these and they basically clip on:

a long time ago i got it into my head to install green halo fog lights, but i could not find any that would fit. i thought about all of the different place that i could put some; the grille seems like the best place, but the stock grille is too sloped for it to look right.

maybe, if somebody manufactured a driving light housing, then it would look good in fron of the stock grille. as it stands, i think that it would look rather crappy.

i think that lights would look good at least partially recessed into the grille, like on mustangs and old camaros. the kenstyle grille would work well if the opening is tall enough, but i already started making my own from a salvage grille.

thanks for the info. that air dam looks nice, but i would destroy that under normal use. it might be good for the track, but rather expensive.
i guess that you don't yet how easily it goes on and off and how much lower it makes the front end.

i am getting coilovers soon to get really low at the track.

thanks

It's JDM OEM! I doubt it's gonna be lower or even close to the extreme kits most buy out there.

i find it interesting that it is oem. i was in japan during the fall of 2005 and i saw the ist everywhere. it looked more like a middle aged woman kind of car or the equivalent of a minivan. not in terms of style, but who used it. i never saw a tricked out ist or even a bb.

i will probably be getting the ksport coilovers, which are supposedly capable of going pretty low.

i asked the store that you linked about it. $335 is a lot considering that i would have to have it painted for bcp. but it does look nice.

he is correct, the oem lips from japan will not fit the usdm models without changing over a total of 6-8 peices. i am currently working on acquiring them and posting up prices of the total conversion.

glad that i didn't get that lip. i bought a K1 from stripper. it is nice. i will be sanding down the rough spots as soon as i have free time on a nice day. it is also a nice black colour already which is what i wanted to have it painted. if the sanding goes well, then maybe i won't have to paint it.

as far as grilles go, i will return to my custom grille this summer. first fiberglass project, so i don't know whether it will be show worthy when done.

the black you are talking about is only a gel coat to re-enforce the FG.......... if you dont paint it your risking your investment ......... but to each their own

actually, gel coat is typically white and glossy in color, kinda looks like the shell of an M&M, the black stuff you are referring to is usually a cheap primer. at the body shop i work at we strip all body kits that have the black primer on it b/c paint typically doesn't stick too well to it as it is kind of gummy when you start sanding it(but then again i am partial to ppg brand finishes)

i have been planning to take it to a body shop when i get my spoiler painted to talk with them about whether it needs painting. the colour is already close to what i wanted. if nothing else, the current finish will serve as an example.

i don't know what it is that makes it black. guess i will find out soon.
