Default HIDs on a Scion xA

I was wondering if anyone out there has installed HIDs on their xA. I am considering picking up some HIDs. My friend, who has a tC, had to take his out because of glare problems. He said he would have to install projectors so the light will go the right way. I've been reading various Scion forums to see if anyone has had an experience either positive or negative with the xA. I can't seem to find a consensus either way. I have also read that some have had to angle their lights down 5 degrees so their lights do not bother other drivers. Is this necessary and if so, is this hard to do? Thanks in advance.

they are going to glare terribly. i was really close to getting some myself, until i saw some jack@ss driving an xa with hid's. it was really bad. worse than any honda that's for sure. i'm talking about blinding me when he was driving by with the light shooting all over the place and not going very far compared to the stock halogens. definately convinced me to wait for projectors. i hear hir bulbs are pretty sweet and they supposedly give really white clean lighting that goes much farther and wider than stock, but i've never seen them first hand.

dunno bout the xA, but for the tC the glare isnt bad at all..it actually has a decent cut off even without projectors. just aim the headlight lower.

^^^^^ Very nice. Would you happen to have a vid or photos or and expplanation of any way on how you did that. Because i have silver stars on the my car and they look great but the HID are just way too nice, if you could give some instructions on how to do this i would appreciate it. Thanks!

I have 8000k w/rock blocker hid blue( did not anticipate buying h.i.d. setup, the rockblocker film was strickly for winter). I dont have glare, and my headlights never run hot. In fact they are cooler (to the touch than my past stock sylvania's)

let's see some pics. and a shot of the cut off would be cool too. i'm a skeptic and am going by what i saw, and what i saw was a ton of glare and a very unfocused beam.

pix on a country road without street lights would really help.
you could see the light arc and everything that way

I got a question: Is it generally illegal to blacken the area outside of the projector funnels? See the Ice Age graphic below. I want to black out everything except the actual projection area (all the nice smooth stuff, not the faceted areas)
