Default Hood Lip install! 3M Adhesive or tape??

Jsut a sample of what I am putting on but after it's painted.

I wanted to know the best DIY stuff I can use to keep it on the CF hood. I was thinking 3M Adhesive. A think kind.

Any thoughts?

Will do! Oh I ended up buying the strongest adhesive that Pep Boys had. But I am gonna take the pic for yah I also bought fine sandpaper to deal with any lack of smooth surfaces.

Give me a bit and I will put up a pick.

What up with the hood fitment in the pic? Was it opened a little or does it need some adjusting?

3M doublesided mounting tape will work wonders... each square inch of that stuff is rated for 5lbs of strength.

just make sure the surfaces are clean... otherwise.. those 5 lbs will be sticking to dirt and not to the car and lip

It needed adjusting and is much better now. But not 100% I talked about this when I posted about the CF hood a while back. I wish I could do more to fix it but I am no CF expert.

Pics of the underside are not very good. I cannot seem to get an angle that shows it best. Trust me that the fit is good. Curves are just right.

Man Infini, you've gotta stop posting so much. Took me a good ten minutes to find where you talked about the fitment in your other thread. Deffinitely a good choice on the CF hood and color. I've been eyeing one that looked like it would be a close match to my flint mica, but haven't seen any pics of it to be sure. Only the sample patterns.

On the fitment. I saw where you turned the rubber stops down. Did you try adjusting the latch and at the hinges to tighten up the fit?

No I have not tried this. I am not sure how I would adjust the Latch or hinges, not even sure what hinges you mean?

Hmmm, don't see much adjusting at those hinges though for any reason. But there is some testing I can do the the front part for better fit.

But I should have the Salsa Red paint by Monday/Tues. So I am gonna decide if i should keep the CF hood or go back to my OEM one for this Hood Lip. I know the lip fits well but not sure if I want am "imperfect" fitting CF hood.

We shall see since it's not as noticeable as in that pic but if you look at it long enough you will see its off.

Also the pic is misleading since it's a Wide Angle Lens and the picture is taken at an angle already. this makes the bad fitment look ALLOT worse and noticeable.

Gaps will be exaggerated.

Have you had anyone to help you out with adjusting the thing? It looks like I may be rolling up to the Super Autobacs meet next week and I'll have my tools with me.
