Ok I just got all my carbon fiber stuff: hood, pillars, gas cover, and took some pics. Next on hte list of to do is definately lowering it. Tell me what you think.

Yea i know it is higher off the ground than most muddin trucks. It is a motor fx hood.

I am going to order the motor-fx hood in about a week. I am glad to hear good things about it from everyone who has one. It fits perfect? Any problems with it?

 

Keep in mind when ordering this hood there are no wiper holes but you can get them for a little more. Overall i like the hood so far.

 

Yea i asked them about the wiper holes getting drilled in, they said they could do it and it would cost $30 more.

I would be cautious about getting it drilled you don't want the CF to splinter. But i don't know i have seen some people with the holes adn their hoods look fine. I am going to relocate the washer things to the area between the hood and windsheild.

 

Yea i wouldn't drill it myself. Drilling into carbon fiber could cause all sorts of distortions in the hood and cracks. But I will probably just move the sparyers to right above the hood on that plastic( just like xamodder just said he was going to do). That way they hood will look really smooth stilll, yet i will still have the sparyers for when i need them.

should have ordered before the shortage. i got mines for a lot less from the same company. main reason i haven't bought a lot of cf parts i want is the price has sky rocketed lately.

 

Yea. I wish i would have ordered my carbon fiber stuff a few months ago. It seems like recenly the price on CF has gone up quite a bit. Anyone get the CF spoiler from motor-fx? I want that too. It is something you don't see all the time on the road.

 

Yea that spoiler is nice but way to pricey. My hood was $500 shipped. It did take a really long time to get to me though. I don't know if they were low in supply or what but in the end it was probably like almost three weeks to get it here. The shipping company they use also sucks. All they tell you when you track your shipment is that it is out there somewhere and be delivered by a certain date hopefully. I do love the hood though despite these issues.

 

quick tip. if the hood is a little goofy around the fenders, add some wahers to the bolts and it should help align it. i had to do that unfortunately. and i drilled my washer nozzles myself and the hood looks fine. no spidering or waves or anything like that.
