need help with my fog light
hi guys i recently bought a used 06 xA that had fog light pre installed on it. they worked great and then on day my girlfried noticed they wernt on even though the switch was. ive tried another relay with the same voltage but they still dont turn on. i checked the bulbs by temporarily hooking them up to a battery. both turned on. i then turned the car on and checked the end wires for the voltage and they both gave me about 13v. when i bought the car they said i had the extended power train warrenty until 75000 miles but im not sure that covers the fog lights. i would really appreciate any help you guys can give.

Like what he said.
Check the fuse..
It's definitely fixable.
And the power train warranty itself would not cover the issue..but if something further and bigger arose from this issue, the dealership might still grant you a fix depending on how nice they are.

yeah i checked the fuze on the inside of the passenger compartment and its not blown, like i said there is about 13v going to the plugs that connect to the bulbs. the way i checked this was i disconnected the plugs from the bulbs and turned on the fogs. i checked both with my volt meter and got the 13 volts. turned off the fogs and 0v so to me that means there getting voltage. i tested the bulbs themselves by connecting them to the battery to see if they would light up and they both light up with out a problem. ive checked the wires for the harness and they dont seem to be broken or torn. the grounds on the harness seem to be good too, although im probably gonna clean them for s**ts and giggles. i tried a diffrent relay from the car with the same voltage but nothing. if im missing something or need to do something else please let me know cause this has been driving me crazy.

WOOP WOOP!!! i dunno what i did but they are working again. i went outside, just disconnected the whole harness and the grounds. then reconnected them and it worked. im guessing that there was some oxidation on the harness and grounds and disconnecting it helped. thanks to everyone who cared enough to reply
