PAINT and RUST
OK...I know it's been said...but let me vent.
The paint on our cars is bad......
I started washing my xB today.....and saw the rust that started on one of the many paint chips on the hood....
THEN....
After I washed the bird poop off twice and waxed twice...I can still the "ring".....

Not cleaning bird crap off fast enough is what causes the ring. It's acidic. I too have a couple rust spots. Clean it out as best you can and wax the hell out of it. It's all you can do minus repainting the car.
