Ratteling In The Door Someone Help Me
So the past week i have noticed some ratteling in my drivers side door that sounds like a blown speaker. However it is much worse and rattles constatly. There is nothing in the door that would make it do this(i.e phone. cd case, etc) so what is the problem. Did i blow my speaker? The weird thing is that when i lean my leg against the door it stops. It almost sounds like the silver door trim is coming off or something. I am going crazy trying to figure out what is happening...
This happened to me (but on the passenger side) when I had the security system installed. It was supposed to be in the car when I got it, but it wasn't so they ended up putting it in... And it was rattling.
But when I went back to the shop it wasn't doing it.
Then it started again.
Ghetto Fix... I ended up putting a balled up pair of socks into the storage area and it stopped it.
I'm embarrased to admit that, but I guess I have a pair of emergency socks or something now...

I found that if my driver's window is all the way up the silver door trim rattles but if I lower it just enough to relax the pressure the rattle goes away. I think the window motor flexes the door frame and door panel/trim causing rattle/buzz

I did forget to mention that you have to sort of jam said pair of socks up into the front of the storage bin to ensure a proper SSI (Sock per Square Inch) ratio.

OK Been there and fixed that,
Inside the plastic door panel is 2 peices of styrofoam that is rivited through using the inside silver trim. These seem to get a little loose, made a alarming/annoying buzzing sound. I bought clear silicon seal and squeezed it in between the foam and the backside of the door panel. If you have a hot glue gun that might work. The reason it stops when you push your leg agianst it is it pushes the door panel agianst the foam agianst the steel part of the door. Wont cost much $$$ at all.
Happy Thanksgiving every one !
