Looking for an alternative interior cooling solution. Does anyone know if that roof scoop on the S.E.R.T. rally car is water tight when closed? If so, how difficult was the install?

i'm sure that no response means that no one knows, and wy do you want a roof scoop? didn't your xA come with a/c? are you building a strictly track car or something??

 

 

unless your car is going to be a track only car, a roof scoop will do nothing but "look nice"

it is a waste of money for that reason.

 

most mods donothing but look cool, so do not let that sway you.

would a roof scoop be the best way to cool your car without using your a/c? i dunno, but it would look tight if a mellow style was used. odds are it doesnt take much more work to install then a sunroof would. but i have never seen one pre install b4. you should email someone with the SERT xA and get thier opinion on it.

 

you can make it water tight real simply

 

THe ones i looked at after i saw the SERT build were the real thing not the ebay knockoffs. With these you have two optons. you can install them without the roof filter so it is just a scoop and no hole in your roof. or you can go rally car and cut the hole in the roof.

Yeah the scoop and vent combo is the best deal at http://www.get-primitive.com/ $180 if you talk to Paul tell him you seen it on the Scion Evolutions Rally xA and got the info from Dave. The scoop is almost perfect for the roof contour of the xA some sort of RTV or sealant should work fine here are some pic's of the installed scoop of the S.E.R.T. Rally xA. Also it does cool or vent I think there are like 3 settings for intake and 3 for exhaust it is loud when fully open for intake, hope this helps I plan on putting one on my prerunner since it doesn't have AC
