Security System...
I got my Xa about 2 monthes ago. I set the Security System as to where the light inside the car blinks and such...but when i tried to test it, nothing happened. I tried to forcefully open the doors, and i had tapped the window hard, nothing. Do you actually have to break a window for this damn thing to work!
what do u mean yes. isnt it supposed to scare away ppl, so we can prevent that from happening. what the hell did i pay for? it says in the owners manual just tap window lightly and it should warn you to stay away. WTF
I know it says "glass breakage sensor" in the breakdown of what comes with the system. If it was a glass tap sensor I think it would say that instead of breakage. I could honestly be wrong about this though. I was never a big fan of the Scion Security system to be honest.... I almost never sell it unless somebody specifically asks for it.
yes i am, i just work so much i am barely ever available. when do u usually have meets? i know i asked this a thousand times but what does this club do again? do i get shirts and decals and all that cool stuff. i'd have to bring a friend with me to a meet, i don't know what to talk about lol.
We have meets on the 1st and 3rd thursdays of the month. The next meet will be the 18th. The meets from 7-??? We usually hang out and chill at the dealership until 9 and then roll out to another meet down the road until 10 0r 11. Im getting our stickers today and the shirts should be in very soon. So yes, you get shirts and stickers as a member. I also usually give out free Scion gear like hats, shirts, and other random things...
I purchased a used 2005 XA. It has a security system installed (Toyota aftermarket) but it did not come with a remote. I have tried to program a remote but I can't get it to work. Is the remote for the aftermarket Security system different than the RKE remote that originally came with the car and where can I get one?
Scion Security glass break sensor will be set off when you tap on the glass. If it is not working, take it to the dealership and get it fixed. In the manual it tells you to set it, then wait 30 secs, and tap on the middle of the driver's window. I tested mine, it works perfectly on all the windows. You have to wait 30 secs after you lock it with the remote for it to be armed.
The sensitivity of the sensor is adjustable and the installation instructions require the installer to adjust and test and adjust again if tapping on the driver's door window with the key doesn't set it off.
Mine was handed over unadjusted and would have required about a half stick to trigger it. Rather than take it back to the dealer's monkeys, I adjusted it myself, per the instructions. Works fine now.
Here are the xA instructions:

Last couple of pages tell you how to test/adjust, location of the control is shown earlier.

For you xB folks, here are the instructions:

(We'll just ignore the tC folks, OK?

Have fun!
EDIT: URLs re-done...
