Default Which vent visors/side window deflectors to choose?

I have Weathertechs on my other vehicle, which I love. Top quality, super fitment, but also pricey. The xA ones are $95 plus shipping.

Looked around eBay and such for in-channel vent visors for the xA and have come across some lower priced ones ($40-50); however, they use tape to stick on (or for reinforcement?). Is this tape required? I like the fact that the Weathertechs don't use tape, but maybe these don't "require" the tape. What do you all think?

I got my in channel visors off ebay for around $50 if i remember correctly. I don't know the brand, but they are nice, and they did come with 3M brand tape strips already on them. I've had them for about a year and half now and haven't had any problems with them coming out the channel and I do roll all the windows down/up frequently and do lots of interstate driving. Not sure if the tape is "required", but it was there so I used it. I think the fitment would be pretty snug without the tape, so maybe even if the tape loses its stickiness, the extra material helps it stay up in the channel.

I had a pair from sparks toyota that was tinted, in channel with stickie tape. The front ones were nice in regards to the shade they provided, but made wind noise, effected fuel economy and still allowed water to wick in with the windows cracked during a rain storm. I removed the fronts, but retained the rears. I think they were around 50 bucks.

I wouldnt mind another pair that allow you to drive with the windows cracked in the rain and no rain coming inside.

Yea I got them from the toyota dealership for around $55. They are pretty good. Rain doesn't leak in when windows are cracked open, make a huge difference in wind deflection, but they do make a tiny bit more wind noise.
