Default 18's on a Scion xA

I'm getting a scion xA pretty soon and been getting mixed answers for the following question.

Will the 18's lower the gas mileage?

If so, is it by a lot?

thanks guys, the rims are RS Limited with low profile tires.

yes. more weight on the wheels will lower your gas mileage.

It can. If you go with the big bling bling, then yes. If you go with light weight, then just a little if not get a pinch better. The stock wheel + tire weight IIRC is like 37LBs. So if you can get a wheel & tire combo of this weight or less, you should be doing the same or better. Now you will have more rolling resestiance from the wider wheel. So it might equal itself out some. Stay away from the bling & you should be good

Default only a lil

i got 18" enkeis on mine and i still drive forever. it takes me only a quarter tank or less to make it to myrtle beach from fayetteville nc. FOnt know how good that is but in my old car it used to take me half a tank on stock wheels. so im alot happier. u can check my car out on the link under this.

My RSL are 18's. They are called nengans.

Heres a link on how they look like...

http://www.thewheelconnection.com/ph...&brandsearch=1

I noticed it says they are 18x7.5

what does the "7.5" represent.

The 7.5 is how wide the wheel is. So that means you would probably run a 215/35R18 I think it is on that wheel. Might be a 215/40R18 but IIRC thats a little to tall.
