Default 2006 xA Sun/Moonroof?

Does anyone know if the 2006 xA will have the option of a sunroof? I really want one on my new xA. Right now I'd have to choose between an aftermarket one or get the RS 1.0 which comes with one. But that's only in red and I really wanted it in black.... Any hope for the 2006 model?

What's wrong with the aftermarket ones? I might do that someday down the road when I get $1200-1500.
The dealerships are doing them all over the area here.

I haven't ruled out that option, but if the 2006 has an available sunroof, I'd probably go with that.

Well the way I think, you may have to wait a while to even get to the 2006, and here you are summertime longing for a sunroof.
However if you do wait a few months for the release, you then get to see the pricing. You also would probably have to have that option installed at Port and continue to wait for the car because I'm sure it won't be standard equipment.

Meh. The only things I've heard about on the 2006's were working on some iPod compatibility with the xB.

I'd like a sunroof, but I'm not going to go RS1.0 or RS2.0 because I totally big on silver and grey/gunmetal

No sunroof option will be offered with the 2006 xA or xB. I was told this yesterday from my Scion rep, so anything else you hear is BS.

The problem is roof strength. Apparently, adding a sunroof to an xA or xB significantly reduces the strength of the roof and it will collapse in a rollover situation. The RS 1.0 xA has a heavily braced roof to compensate for the sunroof (one of the reasons the package was so expensive).

If you want a factory sunroof in an xA, you'll have to buy a RS 1.0 and there aren't many new ones left.

I'm totally big on black myself. But that red RS 1.0 is really growing on me...

Totally check out the pics you find here:

and here:

I can't steal them because they belong to Rodney, but just paste in the links and you'll see the RS 1.0s that showed up for the big Scinergy Meet in the Middle last weekend.

BTW, they look very good with black graphics!

Well, that's just a low down, dirty shame.

you could always buy an RS1 and bring it right to a shop to get painted. You'd probably be one of the very few (only?) one to do it.... I almost did that, then just decided to just get a regular '05 instead. I'm not a fan of the red myself, I'm too paranoid of cops as it is without driving that color around

Yeah, I thought about that too. I'm leaning toward an RS1.0 (if I can even find one) and then living with the red a while. If I hate it, I'd have it painted black.

thats a hot install.... how much did it run you? and RobxA, you wont hate the red at all. Its a very sharp, stand-out color. Several people comment on the "ferrari red", as they call it, look to the car, adding that it adds to the overall sportiness that the RS 1.0 package provides. I'm extremely satisfied with mine, and I still continue to smile when I see it - even 8 months after I got it (then again, all scions make one smile)

Yeah Raven, you're dead! Can I have your watch?

Rob, where are you located? I might be able to help you find a new RS1 if you're seriously thinking about it. Shoot me a PM or email or something if you like.

I got my roof in for $600... I was thinking that I paid too much for it.. but $1200... whooosh... I got a bargain.

Buy an RS1 and get a paint job?

Good luck.

Hows your moonroof?
Any additional rattles?
What does the warranty cover?

I seriously want one if its not a hassle.

I got an aftermarket moonroof. Rattling? No. I rarely hear anything at all. When it rains, raindrops sound louder... but I guess they would if you put a big hole in your roof.

I love it. It's a slider and looks great on the car. As far as warranty, I think it's a three year, but I can't remember. Either way though, the guys that put in my roof will probably fix or replace it for cheap no matter how long down the line that is.
