umm...i might need you guys help. I was searching for the Tech on how to take the orange film off the front headlights and im not seeing it. i would type it in search but i didnt know how to put it.
im getting frustrated and i feel i might be looking so hard i looked right past it. a little help? somebody? anybody! lol thank u so much!
Yup, Bob's right.
Bake the headlights at 250 for 10-12 minutes on a sheet pan with cardboard to insulate the headlight from the pan. I suggest using mechanix gloves or something similar to allow you to grapple with the hot headlight when you remove it from the oven.
Once heated up, you'll need a large flathead screwdriver. Use this to not only pry off the clips that hold the light together, but also to separate the lens from the bucket as well. Be VERY careful to not get the adhesive anywhere it shouldn't be!
Once you get it apart, you can unclip the orange lens and pop it out. Be careful to not scratch the turn signal bucket.
While you've got all this apart, I highly recommend replacing the turn signal bulbs with a set of Chrome-to-Amber 7440 bulbs to make everything legal and all nice looking again.
If you need any help with this, let me know!

Would painting the main bulb cover, that looks like the "iris", be feasable? I could use a metalic colored paint, or color matched touch-up paint, with brush to give look like a real iris pigmentation and color the center black like the pupil? Could be done during clear corner procedure. Would the effect be worth it or not?

my wife would freak out on me
I borrowed someone else's house to do this the first time around.
The same reasons you all are hesitant to do it, are the same ones I levied my urges against for the longest time. Then I finally just broke down and did it. One of those long days in January where I hadn't done a mod in weeks.
If I lived in the area, I'd give you a hand MissBenilda, I've got a technique down now.
I was able to provide a little distraction from the initial shock of finding headlights in the oven by letting her find the car in the driveway like this:
