And you wouldn't consider 4 mpg close?

15,000 miles per year / 30 mpg = 500 gallons per year

15,000 miles per year / 26 mpg = 577 gallons per year

Considering the price of similarly equiped vibes and xa (keyless, sunroof, fogs, factory sub), extra confort of vibe, insurance rates are about the same, and more hp per lb in the vibe, I'm just saying that it's a close call. The $150 in gas per year isn't going to shy me away from the vibe.

I've known several people that have owned Kia and they all regret it.

Said outright, Kia's suck.

Anywho... I bought my Scion near the middle of the summer last year. At the beginning of the summer, I saw a nice black Honda Civic hatchback for sale for $3,000. (Sometimes, I regret not getting it.) Lost that one, went to a Toyota "Certified Preowned Vehicles" (aka "Used Cars") lot, and saw a used red 5-speed Dodge Stratus for under $10,000. For one reason or another, I didn't get that either.

At the Toyota lot, I bought a new xA for a great price and for the new styling. (I like to be different sometimes.) I bought it solely on price and styling. I didn't buy it for fuel economy because every other Toyota offers equally (if not better) gas mileage.

I've had my Scion xA for nearly a year, and I've loved it ever since. They're a couple of other cars that sparked my interest and some that I regret not buying. But this car is great!

I don't know about that, but the one I wanted was inching towards $20.000 with the wheels I wanted and just a few knick knacks, and their "dealer markup"... I thought I could do better up the street and I sure did... I wasn't looking to keep the Kia longer than the payment book, but I can see my xA in the drive for a looong time.....

Well, at the begining I was looking for a Dodge neon (what a Rookie) till the insurance company asked me for 2,400 dollar every six months. Thanks God for the hint!!! Then I started to research other cars and ended up in a Toyota dealership looking for a Echo, till I noticed that they absually had a Scion showroom next to it(I though it was a California thing only). Liked the xb at the begining but the xa stole my heart and that's why I have my baby now.

And in five years it would have been worth only $6000
