So, before I even knew if I'd get my color choice or not, it was "if we can get it it'll be around the 15th".

Once my salesman found me a car, it became "On or before the 20th".

Once the car landed on US soil and I got a VIN, it was "Okay, 7-14 days from today".

NOW it's "call me tomorrow after 4pm - if it's not here tomorrow it will be here by Tuesday at the latest".

My salesman has been pretty good at keeping me informed though, so hopefully when he said he's positive it won't be later than Tuesday he was right. Hoping it's tonight!

You know - it's really ridiculous that in the modern world I can tell you almost the exact location of anything we ship out at any given time no matter how big/small/important/unimportant, but a dealer can't locate an entire car?

Which dealership are you getting it through? I live just south of STL myself and bought my xA a month ago, from Jay Wolfe. Same color as yours even. I just got lucky and the dealer had one coming in the following week that was one of the colors I liked.

I'm working with Pappas Toyota. I got a really great first impression, but it's been downhill from there. They didn't have any manuals on the lot, and the reason I'm waiting so long is probably because I won't drive an automatic.

I will give him props that he traded another dealer for the color that I wanted even though I said I'd take the black one he was getting in. I am rather annoyed that every few days it's going to be a few days longer though - I seriously don't even know whether to believe the dude or not when he opens his mouth now. BLAH.

 

Still no car - *sigh*.

Let's see if "Tuesday at the latest" holds up. He already said "a few days if not today" earlier today, so I'm not really hopeful.

 

I'm going to take a guess and say, it didn't hold up?
