Armrest...Worth it?
I would be buying from ebay...but I want factory. Is it easy to install? Are there other manufacturers that offer quality? I was hoping for some kind of lock box. Any advice?
I installed the factory armrest in my 06 xB. The instructions were very clear. The hardest part was getting the retainer wire / bracket thing over the base. I am 5"11 @ 209 lbs so I needed somewhere to lean and rest my arm while driving. Before the install I just held onto the shifter. It looks good but it is a very small armrest. Can only be used by one person at a time just about. (if you have a passenger.)
I've got the boomerang on my 5-speed xA. It took a couple days to get used to it because you do have to shift a little different, but it is not in the way by any means once you get used to it.

I got this one, it is very nice... plenty of room.
And it is adjustable bach and forth for those stick shift guys/gals

I have the one from the dealer, and also have a manual. Works great. The only issue is grabbing the parking brake becomes a bit harder, but after a few tries it's not a problem.
The one 99SVT posted looks nice. How does it stay in place? Reading the description it just sounds like it straddles the console and could easily be "bumped" out? I do like the fact it has some nice color choices.

I thought the same way when I got it, that it would move also, but it don't.
