Default Bike Rack for the xA

I am looking to put either a rook rack or something on the back of my xA to carry two mountain bikes. Can someone go over my options and roughly how much it would cost?

Thanks for any help!

The sturdiest, esiest to use option is a hitch w/hitch rack. I have both and rarely use the roof rack.

Thanks. What kind of hitch do I need for the xA, if that matters? Did you just have the dealer install it?

I don't think the dealers will instal because it's not a "factory" approved thing. I ordered my hitch online from a place called hitchworld and my boyfriend and I installed it in about a half hour. the hardest part is slipping it over the exhaust pipe, they tell you to drop the exhaust but we did it by taking the chrome tip off and sliding the hitch between the pipe and bumper (carefully!). There's many different hitch racks you can use, I bought mine from performance bike.

I've had a Yakima roof rack since a couple of weeks after owning the car. I didn't want to put a hitch on the car, so I went with the roof rack. It has been great, although if you can get the Saris hitch rack on the car, you never have to take the front wheel off and they are also a super rack. We have one on our Xterra and use it alot as well.

The roof rack costs me about 5 mpg, so that is something to also think about. I don't know how much a hitch rack is going to weigh, but the extra weight may also cost you some extra mpg.

Just some thoughts...
