Default A/C,Heater Control

This is my first post. I have a 2006 XA that I bought new. The heater control does not go all the way to heat or to full A/C. The **** springs back to 3/4 heat or 3/4 A/C. The dealer said that this is normal. I don't think it is. Has anyone run across this too? Is there a fix? Thanks for any help on this.

Mine often doesn't go all the way up to max heat, springing back a notch or two like you described. But it doesn't seem like there's any difference in the heat between the *** actually being on max and being a couple notches back.

Yeah same with my wife's xA. Weird, but normal, I think.

well you know that today in the morning was cold down here in miami and i had to put the heater for the first time and it is true that the thing does not goes all the way to the maximum heat you push it and it keeps coming back so probably its a factory problem

Same here. Its just moving a cable when you twist the **** to move a flap in the air box to allow air to blow through the heater core. If it does not close tight, some unheated air could leak through.

I wouldnt worry, I find the hvac equally poor in heating as it is in cooling.
