Default Can the silver door trim be removed ....

without removing the entire door panels? I want to stop one from vibrating but I'd rather not remove the entire panel. If they can how is it done without breaking it? Thanks

it will be truely easier if you just take the door panel off and go from there those little trim pieces are a bugger and you dont want to break any of the clips

the trim pieces are glued on and cannot be removed unless you take a dremel to the back of the panel where they are attached.

one little note.....if you decide to take the Dremmel to it, don't loose focus and let the bit touch the white padding.....
just trust me on that, ok?

The rattlling is most likley the foam peices that are behind the door panel. The are held on by the same plastic rivit or clip that holds on the silver door trim. Remove the panel and use a hot glue gun or some sort of silicon adhesive/thick weather stipping materil and glue the foam piece firmly to the back of the door panel. My passenger side "buzzed" like crazy until I did this. One year later no problem.

I'm going to try to get the panel off when I get the guts to try it. I haven't pulled a door panel since the late 70's when I had a '67 Beetle. Thanks
