for a drop in, I've seen a low of $41 shipped.

I want to know where the lowest price TRD drop in place is to go !

from all the reading I've done.. the TRD is constructed better then the K+N. Plus IF something were to go wrong with your engine/air system.. and you have a K+N air filter.. the service mgr. at the Toy. dealership may very well NOT honor your warrenty. The TRD one is 10000% bonified to be good to go with any Toy. dealership.

I've used several different high flow airfilters n to me they all seem the same but I'm sure there are differences that the reguler consumer won't notice. My last car had a fram airhog, my friends accord has the KnN, and my other friends Corolla has the TRD. But one thing we all did and I highly reccommend is to remove the snorkel. Every time we removed the snorkel and/or resonator the cars got a much louder and deeper intake noise. In particular we did a before and after with my friends corolla: He had the TRD highflow installed and noticed slightly better throttle response. After I conviced him to get rid of the snorkel throttle response was much greater, intake noise was much deeper and louder under hard acceleration, plus his stock muffler got abit deeper and had a better tone. Try it if u don't believe me, its free n u have nothing to lose. I've done it to 3 different cars n for the few dollars u spend on the filter plus the snorkel/resonator delete its a well worth it mod for increase throttle response and a very nice intake noise.

Its the tube going into the bottom of the airbox, right underneath the upper intake hose which comes from the top of the airbox into the throttlebody.

If it's the same one as the xB here is the link for the K&N. It's like 35 bucks shipped and works just as good as the overpriced TRD one. Besides K&N was one of the original filters of this type. Here is the link

http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...2&parts_id=112 not that much more and u won't have any probs with the dealer. I'd recommend the trd one more for u 04 n 05 guys who don't have the charcoal filter. If u accidently overoil the filter and screw up the maf sensor the dealer can't say sh*t cuz its a toyota product. Us 06 guys have that stupid charcoal filter in the intake so that will absorb any excess oil if u over oil.

The choice is yours but the whole void your warranty stuff is BULL. The filter comes pre oiled and to prevent over oiling it you simply wipe it down with paper towel prior to the install. I've cleaned and re-oiled mine 2 times already and never had a problem with contaminating the MAF sensor.
The TRD drop-in also meets or exceeds all manufacturer requirements so there would be no issues with that either. Also, if you happen to over oil the TRD they can still reject your MAF sensor warranty. They will claim they didn't install it so you are SOL.

It's only $20 dollars more. Heck for another $20 you could get a YDR short ram intake that comes with a round K&N filter included. I'm saving my K&N drop in for when I get my wife an xA.

There is a guy in sponsored sales forum that sells a chromed version of the INjen short ram intake. It is a tube with all the stuff needed for installing it. It comes off the throttle body and runs infront of the battery and draws air from in front of the driverside wheelwell. I have one on my xB. Not sure if the same one fits xA or not but worth checking into.

I'd say get the intake but again if ur concerned with warranty work then that intake will really F u up. Trust me on this, the dealer will look for any excuse to not do warranty work. The dealers make money by doing service and repairs and with warranty work they get reimburst by toyota for performing it for them. And unless they are 100% sure that what's wrong with ur car will be covered by toyota they won't do it because the dealer has to bite the bullet and looses money. What year's ur xA n how many miles r on it? If its fairly new with low miles then I would say just do TRD drop in and remove the snorkel, and if u don't have much warranty left than I would go the Intake route.

neither, actually I have 2 friends who work for toyota, one just got hired in a lexus dealership, and my pops has worked for various car dealers for the past 35 years. Sorry if I seem pushy with factory stuff, just tryin to give everyone some info so noone gets hurt that's all.

U can buy and install whatever u want, its a free country.
