Default Combine xA/xB areas?

Because more Scion models are going to be coming out and the xA and xB are so similar, would you be opposed to combining the xA and xB areas so that information could be more available to either group? Or would you rather they stay separated?

I say keep it the way it is, but add a general section for all the models. that way if one question pertains to both it can put in a general section instead of putting in just one section and then having a new person ask the same question in the opposite section.

I like the idea of a general section, but I'm starting to worry that too many sections will lead to confusion (I know, I know, I don't give enough credit to the public at large, but hey I'm cynical)... maybe a well described section where general questions could go but people seem to have a hard time as it is figuring out where to post different topics.. hrm, maybe an extra moderator? that way the sections we have are well categorized?

This is a tough call. If your trying to cut down and conserve band width, then yeah, you should combine the 2. This would also apply if as an ADMIN you are tired of reading the same thread on 2 different locations. IMO though, they are 2 seperate cars that only share the same platform, so keep them seperate. This would be like combining the NEON & PT CRUISER; both sharing the same platform, and engine, but clearly, 2 very different cars.

As far as making another section for newbies to ask their questions, i think that it would just be over kill. People who are generally new to a site will post everyting in the wrong places to begin with, i know i did. Once they get used to the set up; not being newbies any more, then the commmon section would just be a waste of space. I know when i join a new group/club, i look for the ease of use, and how much is going on. To add one more section would just make it that much more confusing to the noobs. All of the sections are clearly marked, and serve their individual purpose, i would say leave it alone. I have heard this term used more then once, and it just makes sense .... use he KISS method ... Keep It Simple Stupid.

I like the separate forums also, and I like the idea of a general forum. I know you plan to add the sub-folders to the program, that will be nice to move all the RS1 posts into a subfolder of the xB forum, and again when the RS2 comes out.....

How about combining xA and xB into one, then having subfolders for xA and xB specifics?

From my view, there are too many different forums as it is. I'd consolidate or eliminate the xA and xB forums.

It seems that a lot of posts that belong in "specific" forums (such as "power hungry" end up in the xA and xB forums simply because the posters don't think to look down a bit for the appropriate forum or are confused about whether to post in a general forum or in a specific forum. IMO, the xA and xB forums are redundant to the specific forums. I end up moving quite a few threads to try and keep some order to the parade.

Combine the sections. People will always be able to differentiate between the two cars by having different threads and titles of threads.

Example. "New intake design for the xA".

Since most everything we talk about applies to both cars, if it would be easier to manage or save bandwidth, then combine the two.

Darren, I say drop them completely. And re-do the other forums. Interior, Exterior, Lighting/Electronics/ICE, Engine, and Suspension. Problem solved.

Would you put Passat and A6 in the same category?
