Default Considering Trading My xB for an xA...Need Assistance

I'm in the process of refinancing and/or trading in my Lava...My payments are through the roof and I need to either refinance it or trade into something else...I've been told trading out of it would be my safest bet for lower payments...

So that being said, I'm considering an xA RS1 (if theres any of them left), or a Silver Streak xA and get it tricked out with almost every dealer option to equal the value of my Lava...

Has anyone here traded from an Xb into an xA??? If so, are you happy with your decision??? Any good or bad points to the xA over the xB???

Also for those who have had their xA's for a while...How do you like the daily drive in them??? I want a 5speed for sure and I'd also like to know how the gears in the manual are...Are they gummy, notchy, noisy, or smooth???

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help :D

The shift from 1 -> 2 is slow. Kinda notchy in way. If you're really considering trading in your xB for an xA, go for a test drive, so then you can see how you the xA's transmission. Also get a feel of the ride and the slightly different interior.

For a daily driver, I love my xA. If you're looking to trick out your xA from dealer, please fix the wheel gap and drop the car Or you can buy my xA TRD springs

Thanks so much for the quick reply :D

If I end up with a Silver Streak I'm definitely planning on getting the TRD springs and the 17" wheels and tires put on it...Some of the other options I'd like to add are:

Hotchkis strut bar
Fog Lights
Dealer installed power moonroof
Blue cold cathodes in cupholders and under dash/front seats
6 disc mp3 changer
bazooka sub
rear spoiler

And possible more...In all honesty, would any of you guys and gals rather have an RS1 xA (being that red is pretty sick looking) or be better suited with a stock 5speed that you trick out yourself???

Thanks!!!

I personally like the RS1's color a lot. Plus it comes w/ some of the options that you plan on adding already such as moonroof as well and 17" wheels.

Are you only looking at dealer options because of warranty? Or would you be open to other "tricked out" options. Because things like the factory foglights suck donkey *****. They're purely for cosmetic, hardly have any function to them. As for the sub, there are a lot of other options out there if you don't restrict yourself to the factory bazooka. I hear it's decent, but won't bump that much.

I'm pretty bored here at work, so I'll be glad to help you.

Oh yea, and if your open to other options besides factory options, drop your car with something other than TRDs. They're nice to start off with, since it's a mild 1" drop, but after a while, you get bored and just have to go lower. Mind as well start right and go 2" like Tanabe, Goldline, or Tein S

I don't understand how you are going to lower your payments? How many years do you have your xb financed for?

Exactly.

There is NO way that trading in the xB before your payments are done is going to save you money.

This decision will cost you thousands no matter what lies a dealer might tell you, so be sure you really want an xA before you do it. I can't see why any rational person would do this....no offense.

Oh no worries, no offence taken at all...Believe me, I can fully understand why one might think I'd be crazy for trading in the box so soon...The thing is...My box is a lease and I'm only leasing it for 4 years...If I refinance it as a finance and extend it to a 5 year term my payments will drop for sure...Likewise, if I trade it in early I have the option of leasing another toyota vehicle without penalty, and my contract has a stipulation written in the lease agreement saying that I have until 18 months of initial delivery to refinance and/or return the vehicle for another car...After that point, my contract is a closed end lease...

So basically, I've figured it out that by trading the car in I can pretty much do a simple trade in and the dealership where I purchased my xB will give me full value of what I would be paying for it...I also did the payment options with a finance manager and even with no money down and only the box as a trade, I can finance up to 26,000 for 5 years with a 2-3% interest rate and lower payments by almost 100.00 a month under my current payment...

Sorry for the longwinded response, but this my dear friends is why I'm seriously considering the trade in...And I hear ya X_Trodinaire, I love the box and would refinance it in a heartbeat, but in al honesty, for every 1,000.00 I put as a refinance down payment my monthly payment only drops 20-30 dollars...And let's face it, I don't have that kind of down right now.

Thanks for the assistance

I'm pretty much looking for the dealer options to save time and extra money I don't have in my pocket...I'm kinda broke, so adding the options to my contract would help me out a lot...I'll more than likely add other options (such as lower springs) as time goes by
