I drove a '05 Corolla just Friday, as I had some cool things done to my box (it's still a secret...)
Anyway, I see the same window switches that are in the xA and xB are in there; the pickup was really about the same as my xA, so that can't be good. I did not like the fake wood grain in the Corolla; that's just me.
Trunk space was HUGE in the Corolla. Gas mileage not as good as the xA. The outside temp guage was cute, but in a bad place, really. And boy, once you drive cars with the speedo in the correct place (the center of the dash), it's hard to go back to one in front of the wheel.
Plus, DRL's are stupid and the Corolla, when the DRL's are on, the dash lights light up, which would drive me crazy at night. I might forget the lights aren't on all the way.
I did like the A/C in the Corolla better then the xB.
The speakers are laid out the same as the xA.
The auto stick control is the same as the xA.

i drove an older camry (not mine) that has 125HP like the new corolla, it accelerates alot faster than my xA, i guess the 2.0L engine helps compare to the 1.5L xA engine
. i'll be honest, i'll pay up to 1000 more just to have a little more power in my xA, perfer to have about 125Hp, that is a good range for today's car.

That's not a good comparison the Corolla, as it is a 2.0L engine, which has a LOT more torque than the Corolla's 1.8L.
I personally owned 99 Corolla LE(for a brief time), and the 0-60 it posted (auto) was 9.2 vs the xA's 8.8 0-60 (manual). I never looked into the 5spd Corolla's performance but it can't be too far off.
