Default Doorsill & cargo liner question

Hi guys,

I've been thinking about grabbing a few things for my xA, and was wondering about picking up doorsills for the front doors. Are they just for show, or are they tough enough to actually be useful. Also, are they just stuck onto the current doorsills, and if so is the adhesive decent?
Also I'm thinking about picking up a cargo liner because my backseats are usually down. Anyone own one?
Thanks!

I don't have either of those accessories in my xA, but we have them both in my wife's xB. She has chrome door sills (came as part of her RS 2.0 package). They look cool, but to be honest, they're kinda useless.
I haven't seen the cargo liner for the xA, but if it's like the one for the xB then I say get it! The one we have is like a heavy black canvas/nylon and it is fitted to the rear cargo area. It is the best, most usefull accessory we ever had. We can throw all kinds of junk back there and it doesn't matter. When it gets dirty (and boy does it) we just lay it out on the driveway and scrub it down with soapy water and a brush. Rinse it off, let it dry and it's good as new!

No way! Not mine. It's my wife's. She drives me crazy sometimes. I can spend 4 hours detailing her car and getting it "showroom perfect", but after she has it for 3 or 4 days it's trashed again. There are times when I clean out the interior of her car and I bet her gas milage improves.

I just clean out my wife's car and ask if she remembers the color of the carpet....I have threatened to get her a bigger car if she is determined to carry so much crap......

Let's put it this way: The cargo liner is a very usefull item. I would get that for sure. The door sills do aboslutely nothing...BUT, they look cool. If it's worth the money to you for something that is purely cosmetic and you only see when the door is open, then you may want to get them. If our xB hadn't come with them, we wouldn't have spent the money on them. But that's just us.

I'm not sure! They are only exposed when the door is open, so most of the time they are protected. I don't think we ever really hit them or step on them when getting in or out of the car. I think maybe if you did step on them, they might scratch.

The ones in my old xA didn't with shoes but with doggie paw claws, "Yes." I also used metal shine and protector paste on them; I don't know if that kind of helped it or not?

I think I might put doorstills on the tC too. I think I'll make another famous venture to the good ole Carmax today and put a order in while picking up my touch up paint. LOL They know my name and car information by heart

I've got the door sills and I love em. I never hit them with my feet so no scratches as of yet. Had them for say six months or so. They deffinitely are just for show and no real function. They use 3m tape and I haven't had any problems with them being loose. Just make sure you prep the area with the alcohol swaps real good. Yes, they just stick on the existing as those have said before me.

the item I haven't purchased yet, but it looks very useful. It is the rear bumper applique'. I am always loading and unloading thru the hatch and the bumper is getting scratched, uuugh!

I've considered the rear bumper applique' as well (the one with the ghosted Scion and not the black one that you linked to above), but haven't purchased it.

Those are a pain in the a$$ to install. I tried putting on one on the xA and I kept getting terrible air pockets.
