Hey just wanted to say I love watching the progress you're making! I've got a '06 Xa I've had for 7 years and have just started doing small things to pep her up. I really like the headlights you got for your car but it seems like its harder to find '06 compatible ones. Did you end up removing the plate above the old muffler? You mentioned it might rattle later on, wondering if you can update since you've been driving for a bit now. Do you plan to window tint in the future? It'd complement your headlights really well!
Thank you! I noticed that about the '06 headlights when I was searching for mine. I had expected seeing a ton of '06 results mixed in but didn't see anything aside from OEM clear style replacements. I ended up leaving the plate attached and there haven't been any issues because of it so far. I agree about the tint. I may get it done but I work at a busy shopping center and I'm always worried people breaking windows to check for valuables. It never happened to my LS400 but It's always in the back of my mind without how sketchy people can be.
I installed some DEPO LED parking and turn lights today! Part numbers are BL-SM-LX-IS300-00-F-LED-SA and SM-SC-XB-03-C-BLK-LED-A respectively. Don't mind that it says XB if you decide to get them since they use the same lights.
The bumper lights don't look "smoked" in your pictures. I don't like the smoked look either. How smoked looking are they? Also I must assume that the Lexus lights are the same as the Scion.

They're both mostly just black colored plastic with very light smoking on the lenses. As for the bumper lights themselves, most Toyota vehicles used the same bumper turn signals during that era so there is a ton of interchangeability between a lot of different cars.
I really missed my old Matrix XRS steering wheel so I decided to swap a similar one in after doing a bit of research to make sure it was possible. I also added a better wiper stalk, too.
Pics of the haul (minus the airbag that I snagged this morning)
I had to swap the igniter from the xA bag onto the Celica one.
This was the completed wheel (I accidentally wiped off the Toyota logo while cleaning the wheel and air bag).
How it sits as of this morning. I will be coloring the stitching black as the previous owner's work wasn't great and getting a stick on vinyl to cover the silver splotch I created!

I installed the Depot BL-SM-LX-IS300-00-F-LED-SA fender turn signal lens (led unit) on my xA today. I liked them so much I ordered three more sets for the xBs we have at work. Great upgrade for only $20 off ebay.
The next project is a new bulb in the heater controls. I could not find one at O'Riley or Napa so off to Toyota in the morning where I can also pick up my new headlights, mirror covers, an xB cargo cover that I hope to modify for the xA and a bunch of small stuff. The xB cargo cover is about $60 and the xA cargo cover is about $550. One good thing was a new SET of wheel covers, for only $65.
I did order a new set of wheels but they are somewhere in a container. I think these should look good on my release 2.0.
Refresh my memory please. Adding the wiper controls from a (???) adds more delay options????. Right??? It has been forever since I messed around with one of these.

Nice! Putting new parts on your car(s) is always fun! I hope you're able to make the xB cover work because it's ridiculous how expensive some xA parts are! Those wheels are going to look solid on the car. Make sure to post some pics!

Yeah, that's all. I missed having those options on literally all of my other cars lol.

The xA cover and the xB cover are two totally different animals. The xB is a fold up cover that clips in place and now I own one. The xA cover on the other had is a regular roll up type cover. There are a couple xA for sale at independent car lots locally. Perhaps a $100 bill will buy one. I doubt someone looking to buy a used xA is looking for that cover.
A friend installed the same exhaust as you bought on my car today. He said it sounds better for what it cost. The nice new stainless tip is nice too.
I put new Scion/Toyota headlights on yesterday. HUGE improvement. At my cost the genuine ones were only about $75 more for the set from the dealer. I also installed new mirror covers.
Mikel, I am not attempting to hijack the thread but I think we are on the same mission.
I had the rear quarter windows tinted limo black. Stickers were from ebay. At the tint shop. They applied the decal too.

No worries, man. I like the idea of the tinted quarter windows. Those seat covers look like a fantastic addition! I've got a 9 year old so having the seats covered is always a good call. She wasn't allowed to eat in the car at all when I had my LS400 lol.
I haven't forgotten about this place! I've just been working like crazy and haven't had free time to work on the car.
I got a Fidanza Short Shifter for Christmas and got to work on it yesterday.
I was worried about the angle of the Fidanza shifter but realized there are hex screws that allow for you to angle the shift **** in the correct direction.
This is how it looks all put together. I'll probably continue running the stock **** because the Fidanza one is pretty small.
Couple of tips for anyone who may decide to buy that part:
1. When in first gear the bottom of the shifter will make contact with the lower right-hand side of the shifter cage so you'll probably want to grind away some of the material in that spot.
2. Be incredibly careful when you're removing the collar of the shifter to remove the metal part because it will happily crack on you (mine did a little bit and there is some noticeable play because of it). I will be ordering a new assembly, if I can find one, to fix that.
3. Buy shifter cable bushings to go with it. I opted for those first instead of a short shifter for my Toyota Matrix, years back, and I feel like it made a much bigger difference than the short shifter has in the xA.
Got a few parts for the xA! Being in California and driving an '05 meant the K&N Cold Air Intake was the only reasonable option to buy. I also got some shifter cable bushings (finally). Since I was planning on taking the air box off to install the intake I figured that would be a good time to replace the bushings.
