Default Growing Pains... Sigh.

Well, no one here read it because a mod deleted it because I am "3 posts from being able to post in the off-topic forum"... But long story short, I had posted a thread about some punk kid who sat on the hood of my car and I had to clock him. He fell off and I guess in doing so, he scratched up my passenger side door and left a few other scratches on above my wheel arch.

Used Meguiar's Scratch X (BS product, doesn't work. At all.) and even Goo Gone. Got some black out, but the remaining scratches are white. It's a small trail of scratches, but kind of noticeable. They seem like surface scratches, though.

Does anyone have any idea of how much it would cost to have them buffed out or taken care of completely?

I wonder if the scratches would be there if the kid had been asked to move?

Good point. Then again, if some idiot decided to sit on my car, I might have to repair a bullet hole.

Get the punk to pay, he caused them. So what if it was by falling...if he wasn't sitting on the car, he wouldn't have fallen off said car. And he already knows you can whip him.

Good question.

Unicron, did you ask the guy to move before this developed into a physical altercation?

If you are sitting on MY car, the request to move is understood.

Ditto. Anyone who sits on the hood of a car that isnt theirs, deserves to be knocked off.

Granted, the guy sitting on your car is doing something that he shouldn't be doing. Obviously, he isn't thinking about his actions, so why would he be expected to understand an unasked question?

If you were to tell the guy to move, in all probability, he'd move. And then everyone would be happy.

If you were to walk up and "clock" him, you would end up with a scratched car, look like a baffoon, and face criminal charges.

Personally, I'd choose Option A. Who needs the drama?

I might not clock him, but, since he is obviously handicapped and doesn't have the use of his legs, I ill be glad to place him on the sidewalk so his friends can find him.

How's that?

And you'd still look like a baffoon and face criminal charges.
How attractive.

That is probably very true.

But, looking like a baffoon is a slight improvement in my case.....

Well, like I said... there's a lengthy back story to it that the mod deleted...

Long story short goes like this:

I walk up to my car, at the end of Circuit City parking lot where no other cars are. A Neon had parked one space from me. Kids hanging out. One is leaning against my car, smoking a cigarette. I say, "Uh, you're leaning against my car. And smoking a cigarette. Not cool." He laughs, his friend laughs. I move toward him and he says to his friend "This n_gga actin' like he about to do something." I ask him to please move. He moves towards the front of the car and plops himself up on my hood. I walk over to him and put my hand on his shoulder (slowly, to communicate "Not Cool. Please get off"). Next thing I know, he slaps me upside the head. So I clocked him and he went flying down into the pavement. In my original post, I made a joke about how the ultra sloped hood aided in his extra dramatic descent. He must have bit his mouth/lip on the way down because he was gushing blood. Then I get kicked from behind by his friend and I turn around and we start punching at each other. Miraculously, one of my blows cut his cheek open and he's bleeding now too. I say miraculously because I'm not a tough guy and the last fight I was in was in middle school. It was either fury or luck, probably both. Anyway, they both basically take off and I drive over to the fire lane in front of CC and wiped down the side with some Meguiar's Quik Detailer. Then in the morning, in full sunlight, I was horrified to find deep scratches. Must have been from his jeans or the buttons or his watch or whatever.

Anyway, I can't seem to catch a break.

And I just took it to a top body shop in my town... it's $550.00 to fix it. They have to remove the side lights, door handles, side mirror, sand it down, match the paint and clearcoat it.

I cannot afford it and I am absolutely devastated.

But, when he fell off, would you be the nice guy and back up to see if he was ok?

No, I'd get out and kick him. j/k . Seriously though, I too would've just started driving and not even gotten my hands dirty over this. Either he would have been smart enough to realise to get off when the engine started, or he would have learned the hard way...
