HD radio
You can still use the steering wheel controls with "one" make that I know of. I think It's eclipse. I saw it on here a month or so back. If you search for it you might find it. If I remember right you use a CD that you burn then it will program the unit to work with the particular eclipse model you have.

Haha, everyone that replied, I only see me. What do you have the head phone jack plugged into, mp3 player? Did you get that one to work with the steering wheel and what about the factory AUX port by the break handle?
LOL, thank you for that. Because of your replies I understand now how the wheels controls work. Therefore, it was not possible to connect them because this radio doesn't support it. The factory AUX port was replaced by the one that the head phone jack plugged into. That's not only because this radio doesn't have back side input, but also I do not like it down there. The head phone jack plugged into was a Satellite radio, and above that a white USB flash drive with letters CA on it for MP3s.

HD radio stands for hybrid digital NOT high Def
"HD Radio" is the proprietary trademark for iBiquity's in-band on-channel (IBOC) technology, which was selected by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2002 as a digital audio broadcasting method for the United States.[2][3] According to iBiquity's website HD Radio is simply a brand name, although their earlier whitepaper documents refer to "Hybrid Digital" radio technology.[4] There is no connection with high-definition television (HDTV), except in the sense that both HDTV and HD Radio are digital formats.
The FM hybrid digital/analog mode offers four options which can carry approximately 100, 112, 125, or 150 kbit/s of lossy data depending upon the Station Manager's power budget and/or desired range of signal
As defined by iBiquity these channels could be sub-divided into CD-quality (100 kbit/s), FM-quality (25-50 kbit/s), AM-quality (12 kbit/s), or Talk-quality (5 kbit/s) channels.
As I read it, she did not argue it was a high Def radio. It was that the marketing folks lead people to believe so by making the name Hybrid Digital resebmbling one of the common TV terminology. By the way, do you have any data what the sattelite Station Manager's power budget and/or desired range of signal quality would be.

Q : WHAT DOES THE HD IN HD RADIO MEAN?
A: The ‘HD’ in ‘HD Radio’ is part of iBiquity Digital’s brand name for its digital AM and FM radio technology. It does not mean either hybrid digital or high definition, it is simply the branding language for this new technology.
