Help! Question about a 2005 used Scion Xa value!!
Hi. I have been in love with scion Xa's for years while I was in college. I'm am now out of school and looking to purchase my first "real" car (I've always had 2nd or 3rd hand beaters), and A.) little dissapointed that I can't get an Xa new now, and B.) have a question about a used Xa I'm looking at.
It's an 05' Xa, in good running condition with 33,500 miles on it. They are asking $9800 for the car, but after chatting with the owner through email I find out the car has been in an accident (rear ended the person in front and the person behind also rear ended them) and front/back bumpers replaced along with the radiator and some front end stuff. They have all the paperwork showing the work done to repair the car and the check they had done on it this week to make clear that the car was sound after repair. $9800 is right around blue book value for "good" condition. Is the car worth "good" condition and $9800 after it's been hit and now no longer has a clean title history? I'm also think because this would hurt my resale value later on down the road. If that is not a good price, what does a scion go for in that condition?
Sorry to bombard the board with questions, but I am really unfamiliar with the scion new/used market and this is my first real car purchase. Thanks a bunch in advance for any help!!

I got my 05 a few weeks ago and it had 42k miles on it, with a perfectly clean title for 11,500. Dunno if that helps at all for comparison but I thought I'd pitch in.
It's probably a safer bet to get a used xa from a stealership and get a warranty with it incase anything does happen to go wrong so you aren't stuck in the ****.

I agree.
Its hard to put a value on something thats been damaged, then fixed again(cannot really go by kbb.com , etc.). Its only worth, what someone else is willing to pay for it- at any specific time. Thats my theory, and I'm sticken to it
