How Dark On Tint?
ok so where i live the law for legal tint is 35% but from what ive heard and seen its not dark enought i want to do 20% all around but dont want the attention from the police (currently have 9 points on my liscence
) so what should i do?
Twenty is not that dark. I say go for it. I have a theory that if you omit the visor (a strip of dark tint across the top of the windshield), you're less likely to get stopped. If you're driving toward an officer and you have a visor strip, he might look more closely at what other tint you have. Just a theory. I have 5% all around (minus the windshield), but where I live, the law is not enforced too much. Twenty all around is legal here, but 5% is more common. I've even seen limoed cop cars. Yesterday I saw a car with its entire windshield tinted to 35% and 5% everywhere else. I used to have car with double limo all around, and that was seriously dark!
You would be noticeable, but it would depend on how closely you were looked at. If your xA is all tricked out, then it is going to get some attention no matter what. If you are low-key without any "look at me" mods, then you might be OK.
IMO, 20 is somewhat dark but not conspicuously so. If you buy a car with factory tint on the back windows, it is most likely 15, 18, or 20. So 20 on the front sides is a logical extension.
If 35 is legal where you live, then 20 is only one shade darker (medium vs. dark). Here, 20 is legal but many cars have 5. All depends on how strict the enforcement is. If you are worried about it, then the risk is up to you. To me, 35 is almost not worth having. Fifteen or 20 is the lightest I would ever go, but that's just my preference. I also have a medical issue with sun exposure, and I could always get a doctor's note if I really needed to.

You have to need it for health reasons (eye problems, etc.). Some states don't even allow medical exceptions anyway. If you're really worried about tickets, just get 35 and be legal. Also, look around at other cars. What are other people doing? Are they getting away with 20? If there's lots of dark around you, then you won't stand out so much if you have it too.
I think I'll get 20%most people around here who have tint have it pretty dark I guess if they have it pretty dark and I'll give the perscription a shot cause I do have minor eye problems so maybe at least worth a try thanks for the help man sorry for bothering you with dumb questions haha
You can always get 20% on the windows and limo on the back three. It really helps at night if you get someone behind you, especially a truck or SUV, I swear they put those headlights up so high for the purpose of blinding anyone in a car. I have 15% on the doors and limo on the back window and the two little ones.
5% on everything but the windshield. in mich its illegeal to have any tint on the front drivers or passangers windows. but, whatever it looks too good not to lol
