New '06 bsp xA, yakima, ??? HELP me with my vision!!!
I also have an '06 xA in BSP. I'm going to go with gunmetal/polished lip Rota Subzero. I also like the full bronze color on many wheels, too, with this color car. White wheels on a black car look a little to ricey to me.
I was thinking about insetting two round driving lights into the stock grill, sort of like rally lights. When someone said something about mounting 3 or 4 of them up on the front bar of the roof rack, that sounded like a SWEET setup!
Otherwise, you just have to make it yours, man. You'll figure it out as time goes by...hit a few shows and see what you like. Good luck !

ASC, that is one great looking IIP!
We've got an 06 IIP too and are looking to start modding....one of the first things will be a rack for the bikes and kayaks.
Thanks for the great pic.

Thanks for the compliments! If only I could keep the xA that clean all winter!
The wheels are the stock wheels with chrome trim rings and chrome lugnuts. They're actually steel rings (not plastic) with chrome plating. A more durable option is the true 'stainless steel' trim rings, but they cost a lot more. ($80 vs. $30). Once the warm spring weather rolls around, I'll be looking for some 16" lightweight wheels with 205's.

i agree with the fact that you should lower the car, tint the windows. and in my opinion the best looking rims on a black car and the type that are black with a chrome lip. these mods should make your car look more the way you want it to.
Two questions:
Where did you get those trim rings from? I can find 15" ABS plastic chrome ones for $30 but not chrome metal ones... unless that was what you meant.
Also, on the Yakima roof rack. Did you have this dealer installed? If not where did you get them? How much total am I looking at? I am hunting for a good roof rack for my xA for bikes and cargo carrier. I am a pretty active outdoorsy type and it would help me out a ton.
Thanks a million!

I like 'em because they were cheap and unique!

dxt,
I purchased my trim rings from a small hubcap store in Denver. Apparently, they stock just about every kind of wheelcover you can think of. You may want to call around to some salvage yards or see if you have a hubcap shop locally.
For the Yakima racks, I just bought them at R.E.I. (sort of like Eastern Mountain Sports). You can also check Sports Authority for the feet, bars and accessories. The fit kit may need to be ordered if they don't stock it. Also, the front and rear fit kits are two separate numbers.

I don't know what they're called, and I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to buy them new, because they were exclusive for the xB. Your best bet would probably be to do a WTB (want to buy) in the classified area... maybe someone would be willing to sell you their set.
I just did a search... evidently, the part number is K90. This thread has two xB's with 'em:

Neotim or ASC,
Did you install the roof rack yourselves? is it very hard to do, any drilling or such?
Also, if it would be possible ASC, could you PM me or post the name and phone # of the hubcap shop... I can only seem to find ABS plastic trim rings and would really like metal ones.
Thanks again, I may just be able to do all of the mods I need for under $500 with your help.

Yes, I installed the rack myself. There is absolutely no drilling required. It is a little more difficult than the rack that I have for our Subie, but almost anyone can do it with the directions that are enclosed. Also, the Yakima rack can be removed in less than a minute
