Not sure if there are actually any members here from malta (rueope). Well if not i'm your first!

I've been shopping around for a Toyota IST, which i understand is the same as your xA! I've found a 2003 model (jap import) in black with alot of nice extras which i'm considering.

I've had a look at the car thoroughly and i'm takin it out for a spin tomorrow.

Just wanted to ask if there's anything I should look out for?? any common wear and tear problems?? any tips at all would be great :D

i dont knwo what his problem is i like the ist more because there are alot cooler things out for them its my understanding toyota has a turbo charger for them.... i wouldent mind that....

 

He's just pulling ur chain xA/Ist almost the same. As for wear and tear... make sure the clutch still has some years on it, no telling what the previous owner drives like. There's not really any problems that anyone complains about with these cars just yet. Some dont like the cabin noise but hey it's no Lexus. Most importantly enjoy!!! Awesome little cars, I love mine.

It's an Auto transmission actually so it shouldnt be too ragged!.
Went for a test drive with it and was quite impressed with the little 1.3 engine! Really does have a kick to it, and road-holding is great too!

Cabin noise wasn't so bad at all actually! I previously had an Vitz/Yaris/Echo and that was quite noisy.

Just thought i'd update you guys...

I went ahead and bought the Toyota IST. :D :D :D
Its in black and its got an aero kit already fitted.

I should be driving it off this evening or tomorrow morning hopefully!!
I'll get pics up ASAP!

Its an awesome little motor. Loads of extras on it too. climate control, elec folding mirrors, chromed door handles too.

looks sweet, can already dread how much money i'll be spending modding it

We deffinately need pics, it's not often that anyone has a true Ist around here. And thanks for the comments Matt, good to have you in the xA/Ist crew.
