Default New Xa owner,a few questions...

Hello all I have been a proud Xa owner for almost a week now. I frequented this forum before purchasing and found alot of useful info...thanks!
I have a few questions and I hope that some of you may be able/willing to help me out. I have been trying to gradually break my car in(bought at 11 miles, now at 400,still on my first tank of gas) and have never taken it over 4000 rpm's yet,I shift at or below 3000(only taken above when getting on interstate a couple of times) and keep my speed varied quite a bit even though all but 40 miles so far is in town, major stop and go. Is this acceptable? I have recently noticed that when I hit the clutch to coast to a stop and even while I'm stopped, the engine will idle from 500-600 up to 1000-1100,back and forth,if I sit idle for a longer period of time it will slowly settle and stop at about 600,is this normal? Also I would like to know what I need to do to hook up my old Kicker amp to the factory head unit,is it possible? And also, all you guys with aftermarket headers/exhaust/short shifter/intake or any one or the other, are the performance increase worth it and which mod would be the best kick for the price?

Thanks.

yes the idle is normal. i too get about 500 when at a stop. As far as your amp, yes you can, i just amnot sure what you need i had a shop do it. As far as performance mods.....you can do more to a scion than you can imagine but remember your limited to the size of the engine. I have DC headers and exhaust, AEM intake, Perrin pulley and short shifter, Groundfusion Groundwire kit, and some lightweight 17" rims. Yes its a huge difference but in no way would i race this car against anything with decent speed. Best mod for the price would be the short shifter. From 1st to 2nd its a pain and all that is lost with the shift mod, also the pull is so much shorter that traffic in a manual is quite easy

This is acceptable and is even stated in the manual that you should vary your speeds when breaking in your car.
