Nissan Versa vs Scion xA
#62
I stopped by my friendly neighborhood Nissan dealer last night to look at a Versa... It has some neat(reaqd 'useless') geegaws...get them to show you the 'self test'. But, as soon as he opened the hood, I lost it...The paint job doesnt go to the bottom of the body panels! What a joke.

In the commercial, it says that the Nissan Versa runs 400 miles per gas tank (is this accurate?). I don't know much about gas and mileage but what about the xA? is 400 miles per gallon as well or are we beat by the Versa?

Range in Miles Versa xA
City 396 mi. 369 mi.
Highway 475 mi. 452 mi.
Fuel Data Versa xA
Fuel Tank Cap 13.2 gal. 11.9 gal.
So, City mileage rate is 30 mpg for the Versa vs 31.0 for the xA
Hwy mileage is 35.9 vs 37.9 EPA est....So, who is better?

Taka, if you go by the numbers, the Versa will go further only because it has a bigger tank. It is rated at lower mpg both city and hiway. If you stick with Nissans reasoning, if you took out the rear seat and put a gas tank in it's place, your xA could go 1000 miles on a tank of gas. Not because of better mileage, but because of better range. But if where you live the gas stations are 390 miles apart, your best bet is an xA. Either that or move closer to a big city.

Hey, wait...what do I care? I usually rent a car for long trips anyway! Never mind.

I might have actually ended up in the Versa...thank heavens for stupid sales reps, and low stock!
I went to see the Versa, mind you, I TEST DROVE the Xa TO the Nissan dealership (think that might give you an idea of what I was looking for?) and what do they try to put me in? A FRIKKIN SENTRA! UGH!
By the time I got around to seeing the daggone Versa, it was almost closing, I wasn't that impressed anymore, and they had no manuals. My pretty baby drove me back to the other dealership, I slept on it one more night, and picked her up in the mornin! THANK GOODNESS!
The Versa is not nearly as stylish or reflective of my personality.
