Default Price of Scion xA.

I am very interested in this car. However, the price seems a little too good to be true. Any information as to why the price is so low would be appreciated. The Scion has 42,000 miles and is running at 7400 dollars. Should I be concerned or excited? Thank you all for your help.

SOLD. No, thats way over priced. Ask any toyota or scion dealer, these cars do not hold their value even if they are pure priced.

Thats really cheap, these cars, especially the 06s blue book around 11 or 12k. I had been looking for a long time, I couldn't find a decent one for under 10k, that was for an 04 manual. 7400 is prices i found for XAs that have a salvage title on them. If the car is in good shape, and NO accidents then thats a steal. I don't know what the value for them is in Virginia, but they go for a heck of a lot more then that here in Cali. Blue book is probably still a lot higher than 7400 in VA also.

i just did a BB on my car and it estimates around 11k. like SHIFT said, check the title to see if it was salvaged, and check to see if it was in an accident.

I did a search on google for the phone number listed in that ad and had these hits.

H & L Auto Import
2610 Freewood Dr Ste 2
Dallas, TX 75220 Map
(214) 351-2200

Calypso Flavor
11722 Marsh Ln
Dallas, TX 75229
Phone : (214) 351-2200

Additionally, I bought my 05 xa a month ago. It was 10k toyota certified with 42k miles just like that one (in connecticut). I did a month worth of research and visited / drove many xa's. In that month there were about 15 I considered all except 2 were above the 11k mark, some above 12k. Only difference was they had been modded or had low miles.

I did find several dealers however, usually import hack places like the one you found.. it was on cars.com as well, that listed extremely low prices like that . I wasnt till I got in touch with them that I found out there was a hidden $3000+ or that value trade required that was on top of the listed price. So, the cars were usually more, but they list them lower on cars.com to get more hits because people looking for cheaper cars.

Hope this helps.

I almost bought one from this place because they had low miles scions for great prices. I called, seemed like no gimicks. My only issue was location, just to far away for me to drive there to check out the situation. Seems like they still have a couple of good ones.

That simply isn't true. Scions have been continuously rated as one of the best vehicles to hold their value year after year. They've almost always been in the top ten in the yearly reports.

Thats great news, I need you as a reference as my local toy dealer called me the other day about trading my 06 xa with all oem accessories and 14 thousand miles $8200.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
ALL cars/trucks/SUV's, etc depreciate , its just the nature of the beast.

Now, our cars(and 1st gen xB's) do get good/great MPG , were only available for a relatively short lived time here in the US (roughly 3 years) - and so in the coming 1-4 years , in comparison to other cars on the market (new or used) , I can see them in fairly high demand. I was just at my local Toy. dealer, and they had three AUTO xB's for sale(04-05) , all with about 50-60K miles on them, and they wanted $14.5- 15K dollars for them = reason being, right accross the street there is a Arco gas station, and for regular its $3.67 gal !!!!!!

Just sit back, enjoy the ride + good MPG , easy maintainence, and put your money towards other things in life (that does include mods to your car, if so desired .

Default 2005 RS1 Xa ; You can still find a steal...

I bought my 05 RS1 from a dealer in Ct, back in Oct 07 and yes you can still find a deal. This dealer had the RS1 listed as a regular Xa.They told me the previous owner had modified it, they had not done any research on the Rs option and so they priced it less than KBB had it listed with the Rs 1 option checked. My Rs1 had 29k on it and I got it for 10k,and thankfully unloaded my gas guzzling Jeep Liberty Limited.FYI always get a car fax and then run one yourself...

Not to mention dealer trade values are always lower than what you can sell it for on your own.

There was a report on Yahoo the other day, Consumer reports did a study, the best resale cars ( with in the last 3-4 years I believe) , and the xA and xB- 1st gen. was on the top 10 list.

As gas prices increase, our cars look more + more appealing to the masses ... who are able to aford this price range of vehicle (more competition will come along with that = should equate to higher dollar values obtained by sellers of these cars- to a certain extent).
