Question about the xA engine::
Do you know if there are any other engines that can be put into the xA? I know you can interchange some engines on different cars, and I was wondering if you could do that on an xA. Any comments welcome. Thanks for the input!
The question is why? Do you want a bigger engine or the same? The Echo or xB engines are the same for example. If you want something bigger--that is a lot different proposition.
Well I'm interested in a stronger engine. I would like to increase the speed and horse power, and I'm worried about adding a whole bunch of extras because I've never really done any of that kind of stuff and I wouldn't want to hurt my xA. Maybe putting a different engine in it would be a bunch more trouble than its worth. It was just a thought. ;)
Go with an intake, exhaust, and maybe a header. Those are afordable and reliable. Getting larger engine is a real can of worms. Some local Scion owners can probably help withe the installs. Good luck!

Probably -- now that I think about it, doing the add-ons would probably be more cost effective and still acheive the same results. I was sort of just thinking out loud .. there is guy here in K-Town that put a new corvette engine in his new honda civic --- boy is it LOUD! I didn't know if that could be done the xA or not.
If it were going to happen, a 1zz drivetrain would probably be the most logical option.
In stock form, that would net you an honest 130hp and about that in torque as well....which would feel quite spry in the little Box.

if you got the know how and the money....you can pretty much fabricate the parts and make any engine fit into any car =\ it's just if you want to....haha.
im also looking to do an engine swap. but nothing really comes to mind.

I seem to remember a post from many moons ago where a guy dropped a Celica engine into his IST; he had to relocate the battery into the back or something like that, but the engine fit in there (just barely!).
I would want to use the diesel yaris engine they use in the european ones for more fuel economy. This car has way too much power and rpms. And of course, since I do not own a diesel anymore, diesel is once again 20 cents cheaper than gas.
