Default Question regarding the RS3's shade of blue...

Hello everyone,

I was just about to get ready to grab the silver streak mica xA I was eyeing at my local dealer today, but when I got there it was nowhere to be found.
And here I was thinking I was going to be driving it home smiling, take some pics, and post it proudly on scionlife!

Anywho...long story short is I had contacted the internet sales rep via email and was confirmed the car would be held for me for 3 days..today being the 3rd day (work got in the way, unfortunately). Turns out, I guess nobody knew it was on hold for me.

So now my only options are black sand pearl and polar white. Honestly I'm not a big fan of either since my sister's boyfriend has a white tC and he has to wash it every other day because it's so dusty here...and black has the same story.

I guess there really isn't much of a point to this story...but...

I have an option between the polar white, black sand pearl, indigo ink, and the RS3 stingray metallic.
I adore the colors blue and silver. After seeing the pics on the internet, I'm thinking the stingray metallic would be a great color for me...but the thing is, the dealer with it is about 1.5 hours away, whereas I can get the darker Indigo from a dealer about 10 minutes away.

OK So I digress.... a lot....here's my question:

To those of you that have seen the RS3 stingray metallic, is it just a shiny light blue, or are there hints of silver? I have never seen one in person.
I like any shade of blue, but one that has a silver-ish overtone would be even better.

I know there isn't a lot of love for the RS3 color, so this is why I'm asking so I don't set myself up for a 3 hour round trip of disappointment.
I've heard the color as being similar to the light blue on the Matrix...and if that's true, I may end up snagging the RS3. Internet rep even said they'll throw in some alloys for an extra $450

Hey! :D

I happened to go taking pictures of my RS3 around town today, so instead of describing it- why not show you it

The color of it can really depend on how the light hits it, but I think this picture I took does a good job of showing the range of tones it reflects- hope it helps ya!

Thanks! The stock photos I've been seeing on the internet really only show just one of the shades. That picture really helps bring out the different highlights. =)

It does remind me of the Matrix...which isn't a bad thing because I like that color.

Thanks for the picture
Looks like I'm going to be taking the trip to get that RS3 tomorrow. Probably will forgo the alloys though, since I'm more than likely going to get a set of my own choosing...thats $450 I don't need to spend.

I think the RS3 color is really cool. Of course I may be partial because I own an RS2 and I love blue, but I'd say go for the RS3 it's a good choice!

ein311, you a 311 fan? just wondering .. they rule. If you like blue with silver, get rs 3.0. Probably cost extra grand or more though, right? I got BSP and it's hard to keep clean. Enjoy the xA!!

I guess I should update this post!

Yes I am a 311 fan. =)
I bought the car on the 20th and couldn't be happier with it. The xA RS3 is #988, and I opted to withgo the alloys. I figured since I'm going to be putting my own, slightly larger wheels on myself, I don't need to spend $450 extra for those.
It came out to $15,000 altogether. The sales manager messed up on the tax rate and almost charged me $500 extra Good thing I caught it.
I talked them up to $2300 on my trade-in, up from their original $1600 so altogether I think I got a pretty decent deal on it.
It was $16,000 MSRP so $15,000 otd ain't too bad.

I'll have pics of it soon and yes, I really do enjoy the color.
