Default Racing Q

I've always wanted to race an Xb...but i don't have any friends with xb's, they all have tC's.

So my question is...who would win a race between the xa and xb, both stock or equally modded.

Also: I'm starting to have doubts on my xa =[ Is it worth modding ? Or will i be disppointed?

xA is more aerodynamic, lighter and has the same engine as an xB...

stock for stock.... i'd bet on the xA

xA doesn't get much love... but that can be used as an advantage.... less xA's to compete with at shows.

since the xa isn't as popular makes it more unique since fewer people have them. then there is the factor of how many owners actually tune them.

I do some club racing here in So. Cal at some fun tracks like Willow Springs or Button Willow with the Touring Car Club guys... the car (Xa) handles pretty well compared to my old GOLF gti with 240 hp. Other then the lack of hp, it's light in the corners! The Xb would be kinda harsh I would think for the cross winds out there... anyone try it?

Wull hell! im savin right now but iv found some mods that can make the xA a real contender... so far im plannin for a turbo w/intercooler, cat-back exhaust, piggyback for the ecu as far as the engine goes and the turbo put the engine at about 170hp i think plus ecu would take away its gas sipping identity which would give it about 20 more hp im guessing so thats 190hp and i BELIEVE tell me if i have this wrong yall the cat-back would add about 10hp so thats 200 hp not bad for the light body and compact engine... as far as handleing its gonna be lowered with trd springs or after market havent decided but around 2.5 inches is what im aimen for which will add to its already sport like suspencion and some willwood drilled brakes.... id say its worth it if ur not doing hardcore racing.... i plan more for a few red light drags with unsuspecting drivers... not doing any styling upgrades just sound... less styling means more dumbass cocky neon drivers puttin down bets that theylll lose!! xP thats a lot leavin it at that hope it helps!

Even blown like that I don't think you'll pull 200HP off it. Also, TRD springs'll only drop you about an inch. Go Tein if you want a lower drop.

On topic: if the playing fields are equal IRT the xA and xB, the xA will fare much better. Lighter, more aerodynamic, less weight; it all plays into the end result.

On the other end of the spectrum, the xB has a lot more choices when it comes to modifcation, and the companies definitely cater to it and the tC.

I've yet to take my xA to the track (because we don't have one here), but zipping around town I really enjoy the cornering and handling. In that aspect it's pretty impressive. I just can't go fast ;_;
