I had this guy come up to me in a parking lot and he asked if he could poke his head in and look in my xa. I was like, eh... sure? He compared it to a mini cooper and said he was going to get an xa very soon, he said he liked em better than the xb cause the xb looks like a scrunched van? he wouldnt shut up! he went on and on asking me crap about "tricking it out", haha. Anyways, does anyone else get any random people coming up to your xa? "tricked out" or not, haha.

 

oh yeah. I was using a vacuum at a car wash one evening, and this lady came right up and scared the hell out of me. She asked if she could check my car out, and I said ,"Sure". She drove an old suburban that was on it'slast legs, and she wanted something better. She said that she really wanted to go look at them after seeing mine, so hopefully a local scion dealership go a sale, she was pretty intereted.

 

When I went to the Mercedes dealer to buy some parts for my dad's SL, I parked it in front entrance. 10 minutes later, I can back to find 6 or so people peaking around at my car! One lady tried to open it! >.< Probably though it was some sort of show car or something!

When I got to the car, they started asking me usual questions like what kind of car is it, is it a hybrid, how much mpg do I get, etc... the usual stuff. It goes without saying that they liked the car.

It was an interesting day ^^;;

 

Once at the gas station some lady was like "WTF IS THAT, I want one."

and these two guys came up to my car once seeing if they could see inside real quick, he goes in and looks at my speedometer and looks back at the other guy and says "man, 180 my ___!" the other guy laughs at him and they say later and walk away.....haha 180

 

yeah happend to me in a parking lot and at a gas station today. kind of weird but whatever you get used to it somewhat.

 

I got more people asking me about my MR2 back in 1985 when they first came out then I do about my Scion. I think the people in California have seen them longer.

 

Yeah, it happened to me a few times. Most people are curious about its fuel efficiency.

 

It has happened to me at college, some guy really liked it and opened my hatch and everything. Some people on the road even look at it wierd and ask me what kind of car it is, and i get soooooo mad!!!!!!

yeah over here in cincinnati, ohio there really wasnt a lot of xa's but a lot of xb's! now i keep seeing more and more xa's this year around the area.

 

I get more people gawking over my car then asking questions and it's generally the 15-25 age crowd. I love turning heads when I push on the gas pedal.

 

ive only had the car for 5 days and when i went to the gas station yesterday a lil old lady in an older camry asked what it was. she had trouble prononcing scion kinda made me laugh. also i get kids around the 15-25 year old crowd poking their heads in the window at thursday niht local car meets. i dont mind them just dont touch anything!

 

Got a lot of queries on our vacation to Utah and Colorado. In answer to "What is it/who makes it?" I just say it's a Toyota Scion. They also expect that it gets 50 mpg...

 

I constantly have people coming up to me and wanting to look at my car. And of course I'm bombarded with all of the questions. It was a little weird at first, but I have become used to it. Last week a promoter for Toyota came up to me at a gas station and asked me what I thought about my xa. Of course I said "I love my car."

All of the Scion cars have unique looks to them and they are very popular so I understand why everyone who doesn't have one is so interested.
