Remote Keyless Entry system with AVX01BT3CL3 Remote - HELP!!
I have recently purchased an xA. I have the AVX01BT3CL3 remote. I have lost the original, but this one is exactly the same. I cannot find the valet switch. Customer support to program this remote is useless. Where is the valet switch on the xA? Does anyone know how to program these remotes? Thanks for any help!!!

there is no set place on where to mount a valet switch in an xA.
from an installers standpoint, there are a few places to check. First, look at the drivers kick panel and look for it mounted there. If no luck, try pulling out the fuse cover panel (a lot of installers hide it behind this), or check to see if it was tie wrapped to the OBD2 connector under the dash.
If you dont find the valet switch at any of these locations, begin looking for the brain of the keyless system (most likely will be mounted in the upper left corner twoards the firewall, where a pedal style e-brake would be mounted). 9 out of 10 times, the valet switch port is blue. It should be a two pin connector. trace this wire to the switch.
Another scenario is the installer may have never installed the valet switch. If this is the case, the blue port will be empty. Send me a PM and i could ship you one, or you could try going to a local circuit city/ best buy and asking an installer for an extra.\
...one last possibility would be if you have a dash mounted LED. Try pushing it in ;)
Sometimes (like in Code Alarm units) the LED is actually a valet switch as well.
I hope some of this helps. Worst case, shoot me a pm and ill giv u my number so u can give me a call.
good luck, and i will work on teh programming method for the remote.

ok...
your remote is specific to one of two systems. It's either one of these:
APS20B (click on install manual and look for "transmitter programming")
http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/s...ductId=&brand=
or
APS45B (click on install manual and look for "transmitter programming")
http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/s...ductId=&brand=
...programming method should be the same for both. It will be fairly easy once you locate the valet.

I have found a black box with a wire hanging from it. I am assuming this is the receiver. The blue port is empty.. how convenient. lol Is there a way to program without the valet switch? THIS BOX IS DEEP UP IN THERE!! Thanks for your help!. Dustin
