Default SCION XA COUPE SE

Made a lil change to the XA yesterday. Looks very different now. Doesn't really show in pix as much as in real life. But here's a couple pix.

I kinda felt the same way at first when we did the paint job about a year ago. All the custom paint work was designed by the owner. She wanted the theme to match the style of the wheels. Some like it some don't. However that isn't the latest change. We tried to change up the shape a lil with this last part.

I actually painted the glass. I used a epoxy sealer that is black so the inside, at this point looks like a blacked out panel. I did a new headliner in it today and had originally planned on covering the inner quarter panel as is, but was now thinking I could run the material flat accross the panel to look like a smooth panel with no indent. I also was thinkin it would make a good mounting place for a speaker housing. Ideas are welcome on this part. I need all the help I can get. LOL Thanx for noticing the actual change.

Here's acouple pix of the new headliner;

THIS ONE SHOWS MORE OF A TRUE COLOR, BUT STILL NOT QUITE:

I like the headliner. The rear windows being painted over to match the car really make it look a lot better.

Good Job, I like the paint job.

Just a play on words since it no longer looks like a mini station wagon. So Coupe Special Edition came to mind. Sedan just didn't cut it. LOL

Looks good. I like subtle mods that most people would overlook. Well done.

This one has side airbags also. They are not a problem. They are attached to the body, not the headliner. You just take the headliner out as usual. Nothing tricky. If you are still nervous, just disconnect your battery, but trust me the bags have nothing interfering with the headliner. They are on a strap that goes from the front windshield post to the actual airbag which is just above the front side window and goes all the way to the rear of the roof. You have no risk in setting them off and it is not tricky reinstalling the headliner. The front winshield post clips are a lil difficult but pull them slightly loose then look at them and you will see how to "twist" the tab to remove them from the body. Install them in the trim post before reinstallinging the trim. Makes it easier to snap back on.

So far down here, everyone has loved it. Gives it a lil difference. With XA's ya have to try a lil harder. We can't just whip out the plastic and bolt on new parts. They don't have much aftermarket support as with the box and TC's. Even XD's have more parts available. Gotta think outside the "box" LOL
