Default Sly_dawg19's Ultimate xA project...

Well let me give you some background information...

I am 20 years old, male, and married.

I am going into the United States Air Force May 22nd 2007

I will enlist for 6 years and receive a $30,000 dollar bonus.

As you can see from my movie (check my signature) I love my xA almost as much as my wife.

So basically I have 30,000 dollars to spend for fun. (because I still get PAID for being in 6 years, and NO I am not an idiot, the Airforce will pay for my house with a VA loan and all other expenses, PLUS me and my wife are going in "Joint Spousal" so we get "Double Pay".)

I have been thinking for many weeks and months now about what to do with the xA, My ideas are listed in the Poll above, PLease share your thoughts on what you would do with 30G to spare, and your favorite xA

(P.S. I dont need a financial lesson, I know what I am doing and Family + House always comes first.)

Please shed some knowledge and exp or comments Thanks

wow.. ummm... let's consider the rammifications:

Firstly, we all love our xA's but they aren't being produced any longer. This leads to two decisions:

1. You fix it up because you love the hell outta the thing and you almost get a stiffy dreaming about it every night. (whoops, personal information leaked )

2. You get the new xD or xB2 and you fix that up and gain sponsors and national fame as you are paid to tour around the country.

I say these because there will be lots of companies just waiting to make parts for these new models and Scion will be itching to advertise the new models, especially modified ones. The xA will probably fade away into obscurity as there is not much of a following in the first place. It sucks, but it's true as far as my knowledge of the past goes. So far as getting trophies go, there will probably cease to be a trophy class for the xA so you will be competing in an all Scion class and you will have limited resources for parts needed to compete with the other models.

I'm sorry if it sounds bleak, but we've gotten the bad end of the stick the whole way and I'm looking to this year as whether or not to lose hope. The new models will be out soon and the xA's may be out-numbered and fade.

You've got $30K. Take $5K and spend on whatever you want to mod your car. Take the remainder $25K and put it on a down payment for your house. As much as I love my xA, it will never go up in value. My house on the other hand will.

Invest it, keep it in a money market savings for a future emergency, or something else. Blowing it all on a car is something a 20 year old would do, and you'll be kicking yourself in the ___ five years from now when you're driving some other car for whatever reasons. If you really want some fun money for the xA, then go for it, just not all of it.

I know i know all about the 30 grand, yeah yeah..

but listen, im joining the air force as a pharmaceutical apprentice, and i will specialize in kemotherapy (aka 350,000 a year)

30g's will be pocket change.

I can tell you right now where I will spend my 30 g's

I will take 20g's and pay off my xA and remove all debts. Then i will have the 10 grand for w/e I want.

My 1st initial plan was to have the airforce pay for my house (va loan and housing allowance) and save up for a nissan skyline r36.

But do I want to spend 70k on a car? When i can take one I already have and love and make it 3x as fast for alot less? I dont care about fame, I just want my xA to be exactly how I want it.

I want my car to be an extension of myself. I still to this day beleive toyota designed the xA for me. They must have said "Well here is Jeff's car." when they were about to unveil it.

Don't come off saying thats what some 20 year old would do. You don't know me, or know how I operate or think and plan. Believe me, there are more important things to me than my car.

But we all get to spend money we have for what we want. Real rich people, take out their share for fun, then spend the rest for investing, homes, family, etc.

For the past 3 years all i have done was not get things, and take things back to support my future family and my wife. I deserve to have what I want without flame at least once in awhile.

I say I have 30g to spend, but I know for a fact I wont spend 30G on a 15G car. That is just insane (unless your bill gates rich)

I made this forum for suggestions and I am grateful for all of your suggestions, whether I aggree with them or not, because at least you all were courteus enough to respond.

So if we could, please lets keep this to xA and car related hooking up ideas only and leave out the un-needed wisdom on how to spend money.

I am really trying not to sound like a jerk, im sorry if this sounds like it.

But thank you for your responces.

I was thinking more forced induction with a rebuilt motor with about 15 psi or more, with aem ems, gear changes, and raising the redline.

This should make some serious power...

maybe even ITB's with F/I...

You know, titanium forged rods, pins, pistons, rings, cams, valves, springs, bearings...

But definately knifed crank with the micropolish that (cant remember the company) is offering since the Sema show..

I should be able to build a 7-8 grand redline f/i 1NZ-FE with about 300 hp or more without sacraficing reliability (imensely good tuning of course)...

Twincharger is a good idea... Supercharged for low end, and Tubrocharged for topend...

Or maybe a AWD conversion from the Evolution or STi...

Or I could just keep the xA stock and save my money

Even after all this talk... I will probally just turbo the xA and use AEM EMS with rebuilt internals.. I should be able to do that for under 10g.

one in back and one in front.. I still might do that to a different xA (if i get rich)

if you really want some fun with a 6-speed sequential fwd transmission

get one of these

http://www.autotech.com/quaife/trans...ns/fwd/32g.htm

i'm sure they can custom make you a set of gear ratios too...

i got the solution.

if you really want to keep that car and modify it,
get a JDM ist, the 1.5 4WD with 5 speed,
and go all out JDM with it and turbo it.

-turbo toyotas turbo kit
-big VIP wheels
-air bag it!
-Nobleese body kit

and then add some personal touch.
that'd be money well spent on what youre looking for

That sounds like the best idea yet!!

Power, reliability, and size!!

I should and probally now will swap the 1NZ-FE with a ST205 3S-GTE!!

242hp 200tq Awd Rally Engine with limited slip all 4 wheels! 5 speed manual!

sounds good!

well see as time goes by...
