Ok I switched out all the leds on my headunit and put new "condoms" on my console lights. I still would like to change the lights on my audio controls on my stearing wheel but would like some advice on where to start. I have bad visions of the airbag popping me in the face. Anyone done this yet?

 

A few people have done this but not many, this is because the LEDs are soldered onto a board with the controls. So you'll need to be good with a soldering iron. Here's a "how to" if your still interested.
